ORDINANCE No. 657
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON
BEACH- RELATING TO THE PAY OF CITY EM-
PLOYEES DURING VACATIONS AND HOLIDAYS
AND ADDING SECTIONS 1454.1 and 1502.1
TO THE HUNTINGTON BEACH ORDINANCE CODE
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, Calif-
ornia, do ordain as follows :
Section 1: There is hereby added to the Huntington
Beach Ordinance Code Sections 1454.1 and 1502.1, to be in
words and figures as follows:
Section 1454.1. Holidays: Safety Members: Pay. 'In
addition to regular compensation, safety members and mis-
cellaneous classified employees occupying a position at a
monthly salary, who are required to work on a holiday,
shall receive eight hours pay per day for each such holiday ,
worked, said pay to be received during the month in which
the holidays occur.
Section 1502.1. Vacations: Holidays. In the event one
or more holidays, as defined in Section 1454, falls within
a vacation leave, such day or days shall not be charged as
vacation leave and the vacation leave shall be extended
accordingly for those employees eligible for such holidays.
Section 2: That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the
same to be published by one insertion in the Huntington
O.rd;7_No. 657

Beach News, a weekly newspaper published, printed and cir-
culated in the City of Huntington Beach, Orange County,
California, and thirty (30) days after the adoption thereof
the same shall take effect and be in force .
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
• Huntington Beach, California, this 1$thday of February ,
1957.

acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-
officio .Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is five ; that the foregoing
ordinance was first read to said City Council at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 4th day of February, 1957, and
was again read to said City Council at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 18th day of February, 1957, and was
passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of more than a
majority of all the members of said City Council, as follows:
