OF HUNT INGT ON BEACH OF CERTAIN INHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "NORTH ANNEXATION" , WHICH IS CONTIGUOUS TO THE. CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, UPON THE TERMS CONTAINED IN THE QUESTION SUBMITTED AT A SPECIAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID TERRITORY ON THE 4th DAY OF JUNE, 1957- • WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California? known as the "Annexation Act of 191311 , and pursuant to Resolution No. 1307 adopted by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach on the 15th day of April, 1957, a special election. was held on the 4th day of June, 1957, in that certain inhabited territory contiguous to the City of Huntington • Beach designated as "North Annexation" and which is here- inafter more particularly described; and WHEREAS, at said special election the following question was submitted to the qualified electors residing in said territory: SHALL THE NORTH ANNEXATION BE ANNEXED, T 0 THE CITY OF HUNTINGT ON BEACH AND THE PROP- ERTY -IN SUCH TERRITORY BED AFTER SUCH AN- NEXATION, SUBJECT 'TO TAXATION EQUALLY WITH THE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF HUNT- INGT ON BEACH TO PAY THE ENTIRE BONDED IN- DEBTEDNESS OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGT ON BEACH OUTSTANDING OR AUTHORIZED AT THE DATE' 1L- ORD No, 667 OF THE FILING OF THE PETITION FOR ANNEX- ATION FOR THE ACQUISITION) CONSTRUCTION OR COMPLETION OF 1d NICIPAL IMPROVEMENTS? WHEREAS) it appears from the canvass of the returns of - the votes cast at said special election that a majority of all votes cast in said territory on the question of said annexation and the.,assumption of said bonded indebted- ness favor annexation upon the terms contained in the question submitted; and WHEREASI it appears that said special election and all proceedings relating thereto have been conducted strictly in accordance with law; Naf THEREFORE, the People of the City of Huntington Beach do ordain as follows: Section 1. That the annexation of that certain inhabited territory contiguous to the City of Huntington Beach designated as "North Annexation" be and the same hereby is approved upon the terms contained in the afore- said question which was submitted at the special election 2. Ord. No., 667 • held on the 4th day of June , 1957. Said territory is described as follows: Beginning at the Southwest corner of the North half (N-J) of the Northeast quarter (NE4) of • Section 3, Township 6 South, Range 11 West, San Bernardino Meridian, said corner being in the North Boundary line of the City of Hunting- ton Beach, as now established; thence North 1290 feet, more or less, to a point in the South line of Garfield Street, sixty feet (601 ) wide as now laid out; thence West 20.00 feet, along said South line of Garfield Street; • thence North 2690 feet, more or less, along the West line of Edwards Street, Forty feet 0+01 ) wide as now laid out, and its Southerly prolongation, to an intersection with the North line of Ellis Avenue, Forty Feet (40' ) wide as now laid out; thence East 20.00 feet, along • said North line of Ellis Avenue, to a point in the North, South quarter section line through Section 31+, Township 5 South, Range 11, West, San Bernardino Meridian; thence North 2620 feet, more or less, along said North, South quarter section line to the Ord. No. 667 North line of said Section 34; thence West 2640 feet, more or less, along the North line of said Section 34, to the Northwest corner thereof; thence North 2620 feet, more or less, along the Westerly line of Section 27, FTownship 5 South, Range 11, West, San Bernardino Meridian, to a point in the South line of Slater Avenue , forty feet (401) wide as now laid out; thence 'West 1320 feet, more or less, along the South line of Slater Avenue to its Westerly terminus; thence North 20.00 feet to the East-West quarter section line through Section 28, Township 5 South, Range 11, West, San Bernardino Meridian; thence West 1320 feet, more or less, along said quarter sec- tion line to the center of said Section 28; thence North 2610 feet, more or less, to an intersection with the South line of Wintersburg Avenue, Seventy feet (701 ) wide as now laid out; thence West 20 fett along said South line to an intersection with the Southerly produced west line of Graham Street, Forty feet (401 ) wide as now laid out; thence North '2650 feet, more or less, along said West line of Graham Street and its Southerly pro- longatiori, to an intersection with the South line of Gerhart Avenue, Forty feet (40') wide as now laid out; thence West 2650 feet, more or less, 4. No. 667 along said South line of Gerhart Avenue, to an intersection with the West line of Bolsa Chica Street, Sixty feet (601 ) wide, as now laid out; thence North 2630 feet, more or less, along said West line of Bolsa Chica Street, to an intersec- tion with the South line of Smeltzer Avenue, Sixty feet (601) wide as now laid out; thence East three (3) miles, more or less, along said South line of Smeltzer Avenue, to an intersection with the East line of Huntington Beach Boulevard, One hundred thirty two feet (1321 ) wide as now laid out; thence South 4590 feet, more or less, along said East line of Huntington Beach Boulevard, to an intersection with the North line of the South half (S*) of the Southwest quarter (SU-) of the 'Southwest quarter (SUJ) of Section 24, Township 5 South, Range 11 West, San Bernardim Meridian; thence East 1232 feet, more or less, along the North line .of said South half (S2) of the Southwest quarter (SW-J) of the Southwest quarter (S T' ) of said Section 24, to the North- east corner of the .South half (SD of the South- west quarter (Sh) of the Southwest quarter (SUJ) of said Section 24; thence South 3280 feet, more or less,.- along quarter, quarter section lines to an intersection with the North line of Slater Js prd# No. 667 Avenue, Forty feet (401 ) wide as now laid out.; thence East 1340 feet, more or less, along said North line of Slater Avenue, to an intersection with the East line of Newland Street Forty feet (401 ) wide as now laid out; thence South 13W . feet, more or less, along the East line of Newland Street, to an intersection with the Easterly produced Southerly line of the North half (N2) of the Southwest quarter (SW ) of Section 25, Township 5, South, Range 11, West, San Bernardino Meridian;- thence West 680 feet, more or less, along said Southerly line , and its Easterly pro- longation to the Northeast corner of the West 0 half (W ) of the Southeast quarter (SEA) of the Southwest. quarter (SfW4) of- said Section 25; thence South 2640 feet, more or less', to the Southeast corner of the West half (W*) of the Northeast quarter (NE4) of the Northwest quarter (Mh-) of Section 36, Township 5, South, Range 1 11, West, San Bernardino Meridian; thence West r 660 feet, more or less, to the Northeast corner of the Southwest quarter (SWj.) of the Northwest. quarter (Ntrj) of said Section 36, thence South_ one (1) mile, more or less along quarter, quar- ter section lines to the Southeast corner of the Northwest quarter (NW-41-) of the Northwest quarter 1 6. No. 667 • (NU-4) of Section 1, Township 6 South, Range 11 West, San Bernardino Meridian; thence West 132 feet, more or less, to the Northwest corner of the East )+ Acres, of the Southwest quarter (S ) of the Northwest quarter (N9j) `-Of said Section 1; thence South 1320 feet, more or less, along the West line of said East 4 Acres, of the Southwest quarter (Sly) of the Northwest quarter (NU-4) of said Section 1, to the Southwest corner of said East 1+ Acres,here- tofore last mentioned, said point being in the center line of Yorktown Street, said point being also in the boundary line of the City of • Huntington Beach as now established; thence West 1188 feet, more or less, to an angle point in said boundary line; thence� North 1320 feet, more or less, to an angle point in the said boundary line; thence West one and one-half (12) miles, more or less, along said boundary line of the City of Huntington Beach to the true point of beginning of this descrip- tion. Section 2. That the boundaries of said City of Hunting- ton Beach are hereby altered and the said territory above described is hereby annexed to, and incorporated and in- 1 _ Ord. No. 667 • cluded within the City of Huntington Beach, California,and said City shall have all rights and powers in, to and over. said territory as are provided by law. Section 3. That the territory above described shall be subject to taxation equally with the property within the City of Huntington Beach to pay the entire bonded in- debtedness of the City of Huntington Beach outstanding on February 18th, 1957, or theretofore authorized, for the acquisition, construction or completion of municipal im- provements. Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published by one insertion in the Huntington Beach News, a weekly newspaper, printed, published and circu- lated in the City of Huntington Beach, California; and thirty (30) days after the adoption thereof, the same shall .take effect and be in force.
