AN ORDINANCE OF THE- CITY OF HUNTINGTON
BEACH-AMENDING,T H,E AUNT INGT ON BEACH
ORDINANCE CODE RELATING-TO ZONING;
AMENDING AND.REPEALING. SECTIONS THERETO
AND ADDING NEW ARTICLE'S AND SECTIONS
THERETO.
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach do
ordain as follows:
Section 1. Sections 9211.:1 and 9211.2 are hereby amend-
ed and as amended shall. read in words and-figures as follows:

Section 4. The following new sections are hereby add
ed to the Huntington.Beach. Ordinance Code, as part of Article
947, Sections 9470, 91+70.1 and 91+70.2, to read in words
and figures as follows:

The following uses and regulations shall apply in the
M-1 bight Industrial District:
All front and side yard requirements shall be in add-
ition to those required by the Master Plan of Street and
Highways. All provisions of the Master Plan of Streets and
Highways shall be applicable in this section.
1. Any use permitted in the C-1 or C-2 District except:
(a) Motels, hotels or trailer parks.
(b) Hospitals, sanitariums or rest homes.
(6) Churches clubs or lodges.
(d) Residential use.
2. Auction houses or stores.
3. Automobile assembly, body and fender works dis-
mantling and used parts storage when operated and
maintained wholly within an entirely enclosed
building.
4. Automobile painting provided all painting sand-
ing and baking shall be conducted wholly painting

Section 9480. 5 Signs.
e. Only signs pertaining to the business of occupants
located on the premises shall be permitted in the
C-1 Zone.

Lighted or unlighted signs which are not attached
to the building advertising the business or products
for sale on the premises may be erected in the
following conditions :
a. The sign area shall not exceed one sq. ft.
for each two ft. of premises frontage but
not to exceed one hundred sq. ft. maximum.
In all cases a minimum sign area of 25 sq. ft.
shall be permissible.
b. The sign shall be located not further from
the center of the premises frontage than a
distance equal to 10�o of such frontage,
unless the written permission of the owner
or. lessee of adjoining property nearest the
sign location is filed with the Building
Department.
C. If sign is not attached to a building each
support shall not exceed eight (8) inches in
width or diameter and if more than one support
is used, a clear unobstructed opening not
less than thirty (30) inches wide shall be
provided and maintained between supports.
Section 9480.6 HEIGHT AND AREA REQUIREMENTS.

Section 8. The following new sections are hereby add-
ed to the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code, as part of Article
949, Sections 9490t 9490.19 9490.2, 9490.31 9490.4, 9490.5
and 9490.6, to read in words and figures as follows:

lations shall apply in the "C-2" Community Business Districts

Section 9490.2. Limitations on Permitted Uses
is C-2 Zones.
Every use permitted in a C-2 Zone shall. be sub-
ject to the following. condtions and limitations:
(1) Storage shall be limited to accessory storage
of commodities sold at retail on premises,
(2) Products made. incident- to a permitted use shall
be sold only at retail on premises
(3) Not more than seven (7) persons may be employed
in such processing and-treatment of products.
( ) Every business except gasoline service stations,
_ nurseries and similar. uses _normally conducted
in the open shall be conducted wholly within a-
building.

Section 91+90.5. SIGNS,
Lighted or unlighted signs which are not attached to

Section 9. There is hereby added to the
Huntington Beach Ordinance Code, Section 9204.1 which
shall read in words and figures as follows :
Section 9204.1 Residential Parking. Except as
otherwise provided in this Ordinance Code, there shall
be required minimum offstreet parking provided in the
form of either a carport, or garage at the ratio of one
garage or carport per dwelling unit for' all residential
uses within the City. Hotels within the C-3 General
Business District shall be excluded from this requirement. -
Section. 10. The City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause
the same to be published by one insertion in the Huntington
Beach News, a weekly newspaper, printed, published and
circulated in the City of Huntington Beach, California,
and thirty (30) days after the adoption thereof, the same
shall take effect and be in force.
