AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON
BEACH AMENDING THE HUNTINGTON BEACH
ORDINANCE CODE BY ADDING NEW SECTIONS
THERETO RELATING TO THE DEDICATION AND
IMPROVEMENT OF LAND ABUTTING UPON
ARTERIAL HIGHWAYS.
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach do
ordain as follows:
Section 1. The following new sections are hereby add-
ed to the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code , Sections 94o6.1
and 9406.2, to read in words and figures, as follows:
Section 91+06.1. Commercial and Industrial uses Abutt-
ing on arterial highways - Dedication. No building shall
be used -or constructed for any commercial or industrial
uses permitted in the M-I-A, M-17 N-241 C-1, and C-2
Districts, nor shall a permit for the construction of such
building be issued by the Building Department, nor shall
any land be used, yhere the land upon which such building
is to be used or constructed or where the land to be used
for said uses abuts upon, and the ingress or egress to
the said building or land is upon any indicated Arterial
Highway shown on the Master Plan of Streets and Highways
adopted February , 19577 and as hereafter amended, until
and unless the right-of-way for such highway to the width
shown on the Master Plan has been dedicated to or vested

in the City of Huntington Beach.
Section 9406.2. Commercial and Industrial uses AbuttLng
on arterial highways - Improvements. No final notice of
completion shall be issued by the Building Department until
such required dedication of right-of-way as described in
subparagraph a. of this section has been improved by install-
ation of curbs, gutters and street drainage in full compli-
ance with City of Huntington Beach street standards, or un-
til, with the consent of the City Engineer, an agreement is
entered into with the City in accordance with an accepted
plan of improvements. In the event an agreement for the im-
protiements is entered into, the City Council may require
that the agreement be secured by a good and sufficient bond,
or it may accept in lieu thereof a cash deposit , which bond
or cash deposit shall be in an amount equal to the cost of
the improvements estimated by the City Engineer .
Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage .
and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to
be published by one insertion in the Huntington Beach News,
a weekly newspaper, printed, published and circulated in the
City of Huntington Beach, California, and thirty (30) days
after the adoption thereof, the same shallltake effect and
be in force .

acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach and ex-
officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is five; that the foregoing
ordinance was read to said City Council at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 15th day of February , 196 0 , and was
again read to said City Council at a regular meeting thereof
held on the 7th day of March , 196 0 , and was passed
and adopted by the affirmative vote of more than a majority c.' a
of all the members of said City Council.
