The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach do ordain as follows : Section 1. Adoption of Orange. County Administrative Electrical Code, 1959. There is hereby adopted by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, for the purpose of providing rules and regulations governing electrical installa- tions and wiring, that certain code known as the "Orange County 1. Ord. No. 825 Administrative Electrical Code , 1959" ,. which code is also referred to and cited as "Electrical Code of Orange County" and which is also further known as "Ordinance No. 1222, en- titled, "AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNTY OF ORANGE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, REQUIRING PE EMITS FOR AND PROVIDING RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS AND WIRING; ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THOSE CERTAIN REGULATIONS ENTITLED "ELECTRICAL SAFETY ORDER OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA" , EF- FECTIVE FEBRUARY 1955, ISSUED BY THE STATE OF CALI FORNIA , DEPARTMENT OF .INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, DIVISION OF INDUSTRIAL SAFETY: PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF; AND REPEALING ORDINANCES No. 786, 8207 908, SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE No. 1049 AND SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE No. 1062.11 , as adopted by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange on the 14th day of October, 1959, of which code , not less than three copies have been and now are filed in the office of the Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and the same are hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein, and from the date on which this ordinance shall become effective , the provisions there- of shall be controlling within the limits of the .City of Huntington Beach, California. Section 2. Adoption of Secondary Code referred to in Orange County Administrative Electrical Code , 1959. That X. a certain printed document being marked and designated as 2. Ord. No. 825 "ELECTRICAL SAFETY ORDER OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA" , EF- FECTIVE FEBRUARY 1955, ISSUED BY THE' STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DE'PARTNIENT OF INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, DIVISION OF INDUSTRIAL, SAFETY, referred to and adopted by the said Orange County Administrative Electrical Code , 1959, be , and the same is hereby referred to , adopted, and made a part hereof to the same effect as if fully set forth in this Ordinance. Section 3. Amendments Made in the Orange County Administrative Electrical Code, 1959. The Orange County Administrative Electrical Code , 1959, is hereby amended and changed in the following respects: (a) Whereever the word-q,"County Electrical Inspector" are used in the Orange County Administrative Electrical Code, it shall be held to mean, "City Electrical Inspector". (b) Wherever the words,"County of Orange" are used in the Orange County Administrative Electrical Code , they shall be held to mean, "City of Huntington Beach". (c) Wherever the words, "Supervising Electrical In- spector" are used in the Orange County Administrative Elec- trical Code , they shall be heM to mean, "Electrical In- spector". (d) Wherever the words, "County Electrical Inspector" are used in the Orange County Administrative Code , they shall be held to mean, "City Electrical Inspector". 3• Ord. No 825 (e) Wherever the words, "Superintendent of Building ? and Safety" are used in the Orange County Administrative Electrical Code , they shall be held to mean, "Director of Building and Safety". (f) Wherever the words, "Board of Supervisors" are used in the Orange County Administrative Electrical Code , they shall be held to mean, "City Council" . (h) Wherever the word:. "Superintendent" ,is used in the Orange County Administrative Electrical Code , shall be held" to mean, "Director" . (i) Wherever the words, "Orange "County Trailer Park Ordinance No. 73511 are used in the Orange County Administra- tive Electrical Code , they shall be held to mean, lth ,ter 87 of tjj�e Huntington Beachd7n, Ge' Cod'e;ct�i , .ra�: Q ) Wherever the words, "County Clerk" are used in the Orange County Electrical Code , they shall be held to mean, "City Clerk". Section Ifeany section, sub-section, sentence , clause or .phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held to be unconstitutional or void, such decision shall not af- fect the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordi- nance. The City Council hereby declares that it would have adopted and passed this ordinance and each section, sub- 4. Ord. No. 825 section, sentence , clause and phrase thereof irrespective of the fact that any or more sections, sub-sections, sentenc- es, clauses or phrases be declared unconstitutional or void. Section Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall- be punishable by a fine of not more than $500.00 or by im- prisonment in the City Jail for a period of not more than six months or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each such person, firm or corporation shall be deemed guilty of a sep- arate offense for each day or portion thereof during which any violations of any of the provisions of this ordinance is committed, continued, or permitted by such persons, firm or corporation and shall be punishable therefor as herein pro- vided. Section 6. The following sections of the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code are hereby repealed: Sections 8203, 8203.1, 8203.2 and 8203.3, 8216, 8216.17 8216.3 and 8216.47 and Article 823, entitled "Fees", and all sections of said Article ; Article 824, entitled "Dealers: Electricians" and all sections of said Article ; Article 825 entitled, "Permits" and all sections of said Articlej, Article 826, entitled "In- spections" and all sections of said Article ; Article 827, entitled "Standards" and all sections of said Article ; and J Ord. No. 825 Article 828, entitled "Regulations" and all sections of said Article ; provided, however, that the provisions of this ordinance ,insofar as they are substantially the same as existing ordinances and sections of the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code , must be construed as continuations thereof and not as new enactments. Section. 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the pass— age and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published by one insertion in the Huntington Beach News, a weekly newspaper, printed, published and circulated in the City of Huntington Beach, California, and thirty (30) days after the adoption thereof, the same shall take effect and be in force.
