AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON
BEACH AMENDING THE HUNTINGTON BEACH OR-
DINANCE CODE BY AMENDING ARTICLE 944
AND SECTIONS OF SAID ARTICLE RELATING
TO M-2 DISTRICT
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach do
ordain as follows:
Section 1. That Article 944 of the Huntington Beach
Ordinance Code is hereby amended, and as amended, shall read
in words and figures as follows:
ARTICLE 944
M-2 DISTRICT
Section 2. The following sections of Article 944
are hereby amended, and as amended, shall read in words and
figures as follows:
Section 9441. Industrial District: Provisions Applica-
ble . The following provisions shall apply in the M-2 District.
Section 9442. Uses Permitted: General Manufacturing,
inc u-str a C uses, commercial uses and building and
structures designed and intended for such uses,which
are permitted in .the M-1-A, M-1 and C-2 Districts
and shall be under the respective provisions of the
appropriate district.
Sectiton 9442.1.Steam Electrical Generating Stations.
Section 9443. Conditional Uses. Where Use Permits are
granted, any of the following manufacturing uses are
conditional uses permitted in the NI-2 District sub-
ject to review in accordance with the performance
standards procedure;provided,that such uses are locat-
ed not less than two thousand (2000) ft.from the
nearest "R" District or "A" District designated for
future residential development on the adopted Master
`_Land Use Plan.

1. Acetylene gas manufacture or storage .
2. Acid manufacture.
3. Alcohol manufacture.
4. Asphalt refining or asphalt mixing plants.
5. Blast furnaces or coke ovens
6. Brick, tile, cement block or terra cotta manufacture.
7. Cement, lime, gypsum or plaster of paris manufacture.
8. Concrete and concrete products manufacture.
9. Distillation of bones.
10. Drop forge industries.
11. Fat rendering.
12. Fertilizer manufacture or storage.
13. Freight classification yards.
14. .Natural gasoline processing and absorption plants.
15. Oil cloth or linoleum manufacture.
16. Paint, oil, shellac, turpentine or varnish manufacture.
17. Paper pulp manufacture.
18. Rock crusher, or distribution of rocks, sand or gravelo
other than quarries or other sources of raw material.
19. Roofing material manufacture.
20. Soap manufacture.
21. Soda and compound manufacture.
22. ,Winerie:s.
23. Wool pulling or scouring.
24. Accessory buildings and uses customarily incident to
any of the above uses, when located on the same site
with the main building.

Section 9445. Height_.Limitat.ions': No building or struc-
ture in the. M-2- Dstrict shall exceed a height of forty (40)
feet.
Section 3. That Sections 9443.1, 9444.1, 9444.2 and
y444.3 of the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code be and they are
hereby .repealed.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to
be published by one insertion in the Huntington Beach News,
a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and
circulated in the City of 'Huntington Beach, California, and

thirty(30) days after the adoption thereof, the same shall
take effect and be in force.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, California, this 15th day of May ,
1961.

City Clerk of the City_ of Huntington Beach and ex-officio
Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby certify
that the whole number of members of the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach is five; that the foregoing ordi-
nance was read to said City Council at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 1st day of May , 1961, and was
again read to said City Council at a regular meeting thereof
held on the 15th day of May , 1961, and was passed
and adopted by the affirmative vote of more than a majority
of all the members of said City Council.
