AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNT INGT ON
BEACH APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF
CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED
AS "CALLENS-REVISED ANNEXATION" TO THE
CITY QF HUNT INGT ON BEACH
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach,
California, does ordain as follows:
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the "Annexation
of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939" , the City Council of
the City of Huntington Beach did, on the 15th day of May,
1961, pass and adopt Resolution No. 1495, giving notice of
the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the
City of Huntington Beach, said territory being therein desig-
nated as "Callens-Revised Annexation" and said action being
taken by the Council of said city as the legislative body of
the city, pursuant to a written petition therefor, said
resolution describing the boundaries of the territory so
proposed to be annexed to said city; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 1495 did contain a notice
of the day, hour and place when and where the said council of
said city would hear protests made by any person owning prop-
erty within the territory proposed to be annexed, the time of
said hearing being not less than 40 nor more than 60 days
after the passage of said resolution; and
WHEREAS, on the 3rd day of July, 1961, at the hour of
8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall

of the City of Huntington Beach, State of California, said
time and place being the day, hour and place fixed in said
Resolution No. 1495 for hearing protests to the said annexa-
tion, and no protests, either written or oral, to said
annexation having been made; and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of
Huntington Beach, and is uninhabited. territory in the County
of Orange; and
WHEREAS, the owners of more than two-thirds of the value
of the territory have heretofore filed with the City Clerk
written consent that the property in said territory be ,
after annexation, subject to taxation equally with the
property within the City of Huntington Beach to pay the
entire bonded indebtedness of the City of Huntington Beach
outstanding or authorized at the date of the filing of the
petition for annexation for the acquisition, construction or
completion of municipal improvements:
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach does hereby approve the annexation known as "Callens-
Revised Annexation", the territory of which is hereinafter
described, to the City of Huntington Beach, and does hereby
further ordain that the said territory be and it is hereby
annexed to the City of Huntington Beach.
That said territory, the annexation of which to the
City of Huntington Beach is herein approved, is all that
territory situate in the County of Orange, State of Califor-
nia, and more particularly described as follows:

Beginning at the Southeast corner of the North half
(N0 of the Southeast quarter (SET') of the Southeast
quarter (SE4) of Section 28, Township 5 South, Range
11 West, said corner being a point on the boundary of
the City of Huntington Beach as now established and
the true point of beginning; thence North, a distance
of 1960.00 feet, more or less, along said boundary
line of the City of Huntington Beach, said boundary
line being the East line of Section 28, Township 5
South, Range ll. West, S.B.B.& M. , to a point on the
South line of Slater Avenue , 40.00 feet wide, as now
laid out; thence West 1320.00 feet, more or less,
along the South line of Slater Avenue to an angle
point in the boundary line of the City of Huntington
Beach, said angle point also being the West line of
the East half (EJ) of the Southeast quarter (SE4)
of said Section 28; thence South, leaving the boundary
of the City of Huntington Beach, 1960.00 feet, more or
less, along said West line of the East half (E-j) of
the Southeast quarter (SE4) of said Section 28 to the
Southwest corner of the North half(Nf) of the South-
east quarter (SE4) of the Southeast quarter (SE4) of
said Section. 28; thence East 1320.00 feet, more or
less, along the South line of the North half (N*) of
the Southeast quarter (SE4) of the Southeast quarter
(SE4) of said Section 28- to the true point of
beginning."
The boundaries of said City of Huntington Beach are
hereby altered and the said territory above described is
hereby annexed to, incorporated in and included within the
City of Huntington Beach, California, and said City shall
have all rights and powers in, to and over said territory
as are provided by law.
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does
hereby further ordain that the territory above described
shall be subject to taxation equally with the property within
the City of Huntington Beach to pay the entire bonded indebt-
edness of the City of Huntington Beach outstanding on MaY 15,
1961; the:="date of the filing of the Petition for Annexation
of said territory or theretofore authorized for the acquisi-

tion, construction or completion of municipal improvements.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption
of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published by
one insertion in the Huntington Beach News, a weekly news-
paper printed, published and circulated in the City of
Huntington Beach, California; and thirty days after the
adoption thereof the same shall take effect and be in force.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, California, this 17th day of July, 1961.

I, PAUL C. JONES, the duly elected, qualified and
acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach and ex-
officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is five ; that the foregoing
ordinance was read to said City Council at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 3rd day of July, 1961, and was again
read to said City Council at a regular meeting thereof held
on the 17th day of July, 1961, and was passed and adopted
by the affirmative vote of more than a majority of all the
members of said City Council.
