AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HU144TINGTON
BEACH CHANGING THE DESIGNATION CF STREETS
AND AVENUES WITHIN SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has held public hear-
ings and the City Council has held public hearings to con-
sider the designation of streets and avenues within the
City to enable better orientation to the street pattern
within the city limits; and
WHEREAS, after said hearings, and upon the recommenda-
tion of the Planning Commission, the City Council finds
and determines that it is to the best interest of the City
and its inhabitants and will enable better orientation of
street patterns within the City and will eliminate mach
confusion to change the designation of streets and avenues;
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Hunting-
ton Beach do ordain as follows:
Section 1. All streets which make an angle of less
than 450, measured either way from a true north-south line
not designated "Streets", will be changed to read "Streets" .
Section 2. All streets which make an angle of less than
450 measured either way from a true east-west line not desig-
nated "Avenue" will be changed to read "Avenue".

Section 3. That all streets and avenues within the
City known as "Circles" and "Lanes" or "Drives" are except-
ed from the above designation of Streets and Avenues.
Section 4. Nothing in this ordinance shall be constru-
ed to change, in any respect, the name of Beach Boulevard.
Section 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the
same to be published by one insertion in the Huntington
Beach News, a weekly newspaper published, printed and cir-
culated in the City of Huntington Beach, Orange County,
California, and thirty (30) days after the adoption thereof,
the same shall take effect and be in force.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, California, this 7th day of August
1961.

City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-officio
Clerk of the Coty Council of said City, do hereby certify
that the whole number of members of the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach is five; that the foregoing ordi-
nance was first read to said City Council at a regular meet-
ing thereof held on the 17th day of July , 1961, and was
again read to said City Council at a regular meeting there-
of held on the 7th day of .emu,&ust , 1961, and was pass-
ed and adopted by the affirmative vote of more than a
majority of all the members of said City Council as follows:
