HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #931 ORRDINANCE No, 931 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH RELATING TO SETBACKS AND AMENDING THE HUNTINGTON BEACH ORDINANCE CODE BY AMENDING SECTION 9526. The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does ordain as follows : Section 1. That Section 9526 of the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code is hereby amended, and as amended, shall read in words and figures as follows: Section 9526 . EFFECT OF SETBACK ORDINANCE: From and after°the taking effect of said ordinance establishing any setback line or lines , or amendment of any such setback line or lines, it shall be unlawful for any person_, firm, or corporation to construct any building, wall, fence, or hedge over 3-1/2 feet in height or store or display merchandise Within the space between the street line and the setback line or lines so established, except that a marquee or canopy which is attached to a building, which building complies with the setback line or lines, may project into the setback area upon conditions that such marquee or canopy is not more than 18 inches in thickness and shall have a ground clearance of not less than 12 feet above the centerline grade of the adjacent streets. Permitted signs which are located within the setback areas of commercial or industrial use shall have a ground _ 1. -Ord. No. 931 clearance of at least 10 feet unless the top of such s-ign is not more than 32 feet above the adjoining grade. Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published by one insertion in the Huntington Beach News , a weekly newspaper, printed, published and circulated in the City of Huntington Beach, California.
