AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON
BEACH APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CER-
TAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED
AS "BOLSA CHICA ANNEXATION" TO THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, Calif-
ornia, does ordain as follows : _.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the "Annexation
of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, " the City Council of
the City of Huntington Beach did, on the 15th day of October,
1962, pass and adopt Resolution No. 1671, giving notice of
the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the
City of Huntington Beach, said territory being therein desig-
nated as "Bolsa Chica Annexation" and said action being taken
by the Council of said City as the legislative body of the
City, pursuant to a written petition therefor, said Resolu-
tion describing the boundaries of the territory so proposed
to be annexed to said City; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 1671, did contain a notice
of the day, hour and place when and where the said council
of said City would hear protests made by any person owning
property within the territory proposed to be annexed, the
time of said hearing being not less than 40 nor more than
60 days after the passage of said Resolution; and

WHEREAS, on the 3rd day of December, 1962, at the hour
of 8 :00 P.M. in the Council Chamber in the City Hall of the
City of Huntington Beach, State of California, said time and
place being the hour and day and place fixed in said Resolu-
tion No. 1671 for hearing protests to the said annexation,
and no protests, either written or oral, to said annexation
having been made; and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of
Huntington Beach, and is uninhabited territory in the County
of Orange; and
WHEREAS, the owners of more than two-thirds of the
value of the territory have heretofore filed with the City
Clerk written consent that the property in said territory
be, after annexation, subject to taxation equally with the
property within the City of Huntington Beach to pay the en-
tire bonded indebtedness of the City of Huntington Beach
outstanding or authorized at the date of the filing of the
petition for annexation for the acquisition, construction
or completion of municipal improvements ;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach does hereby approve the annexation known
as "Bolsa Chica Annexation" , the territory of which is here-
inafter described, to the City of Huntington Beach,
and does hereby further ordain that said territory be and it

is hereby annexed to the City of Huntington Beach.
That said territory, the annexation of which to the City
of Huntington Beach is herein approved, is all that territory
situated in the County of Orange, State of California, and
more particularly described as follows :
All that certain land situated in the State of Califor-
nia,,•County of Orange, described as follows :
That portion of Tract No. 86, in the County of Orange,
State of California, as per map recorded in Book 10,
Page 35, of Miscellaneous Maps , in the Office of the
County Recorder of said County, described as follows :
Beginning at the intersection of the existing boundary
of the City of Huntington Beach as established by Or-
dinance No. 74.8 with a line parallel with and East
30.00 feet from the center line of Bolsa Chica Street
said intersection being distant along said existing
boundary North 890 36, 00" East 60.00 feet from an
angle point in said boundary;ftn.a.eleaving said existing
boundary South 00 40, 00" East 1170. 33 feet along said
parallel line to the easterly prolongation of the north-
erly line of the land described in the lease between
Edward M. Howell Company, lessor, and Socony Mobile Oil
Company, lessee, recorded May 23, 1962, in Boob 6118
page 910, of Official Records; thence South 89 39' 30"
West 215. 00 feet along said prolongation and northerly

0 40, 00" East 200. 33 feet along the westerly line of
said land and its southerly prolongation to a line par-
allel with and South 30.00 feet from the center line
Of Warner Avenue; thence South 890 39' 30" West 475.06
feet along last said parallel line to the intersection
of last said parallel line with the center line of that
certain private Road along the westerly line of Lot 1
in Block 20 of said Tract (now known as Green Street)
last said center line also being the westerly line of

tion of the Board of Supervisors of said Orange
County, July 139 1943, a certified copy of which was
recorded July 15, 1943, in Book 1197, Page 424 of

feet along last parallel line to the center line of
Bolsa Chica Street as shown on said map and as vacated
by resultion ofthe Board of Supervisors of said
Orange County, July 13, 1943, a certified copy of
which was recorded July 15, 1943, in Book 1197, Page

West 1296.40 feet along said center line to the south
west corner of Section �1, Townsbip 5 South, Range
11 West; thenceoNorth 0 40, 00" West 30.00 feet;
thence North 89 37' 30" East 30.00 feet to the south
west cori.er of Lot 3 in Block 5 of said Tract; thence
North 89 37' 30" East 265.00 feet to the southeast
corner of the land described in the deed to Ralph R.
Kershner Jr. et ux, recorded October 5, 19599 in Book
4912, Page 323 of Official Records; thence North 00
40, 0011 West 300.38 feet along the East line of said
land to the South line of the land described in the
deed to Delbert E. Schell, et ux, recorded November
20, 1946, as In8trument No. 57101 of Official Records;
thence North 89 37' 3011 East 100.00 feet along said
last South line to the southeast corner of said land
of Schell; thence North 0 40, 0011 West 330. 00 feet
along the East line of last said land to the North
line of Lot 4 in said Block 5; thence South 890 37'
30" West 64.00 feet along last said North line to
the southeast corner of Lot 1 in said Block 5; thence
North 0 40' 0011 West 680.38 feet along the east line
of said Lot 1 in Block 5 to said existing boundary of
the City of Huntington Beach; thence along said
existing boundary South 89 36, 00" West 301.69 feet
to the point of beginning
The boundaries of the said City of Huntington
Beach are hereby altered and the same territory above de-
scribed is hereby annexed to, incorporated in and included
within the City of Huntington Beach, California, and said
City shall have all rights and powers in, to and over said
territory as are provided by law.

The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does
hereby further ordain that the territory above described
shall be subject to taxation equally with the property within
the City of Huntington Beach to pay the entire bonded indebt-
edness of the City of Huntington Beach outstanding on October
15, 1962, the date of the filing of the Petition for Annexa-
tion of said territory or theretofore authorized for the
acquisition, construction or completion of municipal improve-
ments.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adopt-
ion of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be publish-
ed by one insertion in the Huntington Beach News, a weekly
newspaper printed, published and circulated in the City of
Huntington Beach, California; and thirty days after the
adoption thereof the same shall take effect and be in force.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, California, this 17h'. day of December, 1962.

acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach and ex-
officio Clerk of the City Council of the said City, do here-
by certify that the whole number of members of the City
Council of the City of Huntington. Beach is five; that the
foregoing ordinance was read to said City Council at a regu-
lar meeting thereof held on the 3rd day of December ,
1962, and was again read to said City Council at a regular o',
meeting thereof held on the 17th day of December , 1962,
and was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of more
than a majority of all the members of said City Council.
