HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #980 f ORDINANCE NO. 980 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 913 ENTITLED "ANORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH FOR THE -FISCAL YEAR . 1962-1963"; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO EX- IST, AND ADDING ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS TO CERTAIN ITEMS OF SAID BUDGET. WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted a budget for . the City of Huntington Beach for the fiscal -year 1962-1963 by passage of Ordinance No. 913; and WHEREAS, thelamounts allocated at the beginning of the year to the various items in the budget were, of nec- essity, approximated; and the unforeseen development of the City has exceeded all expectations; and because additional personnel were employed in excess of the anticipated needs, of the City, causing some accounts within the budget which are necessary to the health and welfare of the population, to fall short of-anticipated requirements; and WHEREAS, determination of the amounts necessary to adjust the budget for unforeseen expenditures could not be made until information was available concerning funds to be received for the balance of the fiscal year which ends on June 30th, 1963; and it has been- determined that funds are now available for these expenditures from the budget from unappropriated supplus of the various funds; and WHEREAS, it is now necessary that these adjustments' i in the budget appropriations be made prior to the end of the fiscal year 1962-1963 to maintain services for the immediate preservation of the peace, health, safety and public welfare; I Ord. No. 980 NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of and by the above.. preamble and statement, the City Council of the City of Hunt- ington Beach declares and defines that an emergency exists necessitating the following ordinance amendment for the immed- iate protection and preservation of the public health and safety. The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does ordain as follows: Section 1 . That the City Auditor is authorized to transfer from Unappropriated Surplus of General Funds to the following General Fund Accounts, the amounts herein indicated: Acct. #1000-G City Council $ 4,000.00 Acct. #1100-G Administration $ 1,600.00 Acct . #1200-G Treasurer $ 100.00 Acct . #2000-G Elections $ 640.00 Acct . #2300-G Planning Department$ 100.00 Acct. #2600-G Celebrations $ 1,500.00 Acct. #2900-G City General $ 83,265.00 Acct. #3000-G Fire Department $ 3,500.00 Acct. #E-3100-G Weed Abatement $ 8,337 .00 Acct . #3600-G Building Department $ 10,500.00 Acct . #E-4300-G Yard Operation $ 3,300.00 Acct. #E-4800-G Refuse Collection $ 22,000.00 Acct . #E-5100-G Street Maintenance $ 13,000.00 Acct. #7900-L Library $ 7,500.00 Acct. #7700-R Recreation Department$ 8,500.00 2. Ord. No. 980 Section 2 . This Ordinance, being an emergency measure for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, which emergency is set forth and defined in the preamble hereto, shall take effect aid be in force from and after the passage and adoption hereof. Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published by one insertion in the Huntington Beach News , a weekly newspaper, printed, published and circulated in the City of Huntington Beach, California.
