AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON
BEACH APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CER-
TAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED
AS "SUNSET BEACH No. 1 ANNEXATION" TO
THE, CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH.
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach,
California, does ordain as follows :
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the "Annexa-
tion of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939" , the City Council
of the City of Huntington 'Beach did, on the 3rd day of June,
1963, pass and adopt Resolution No. 1786, giving notice of
the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the
City of Huntington Beach, said territory being therein desig-
nated as "Sunset Beach No. 1 Annexation" and said action being
taken by the Council of said. City as the legislative body of
the City, pursuant to a written petition therefor, said Resol-
ution describing the boundaries of the territory so proposed
to be annexed to said city; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 1786 did contain a
notice of the day, hour and place when and where the said
Council of said City would hear protests made by any person
owning property within the territory proposed to be annexed,
the time of said hearing being not less than 40 nor more than
60 days after the passage of said resolution; and

WHEREAS, on the 15th day of July, 1963, at .the hour
of 8 :00 P.M. in the Council Chamber in the City Hall of the
City of Huntington Beach, .State of California, said time and
place being the day and hour and place fixed in said Resolu-
tion No. 17Q6 for hearing protests to the said annexation,
and no protests, either written or oral, to said annexation
having been made; and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of
Huntington Beach, and is uninhabited territory in the County
of Orange; and
WHEREAS, the owners of more than two-thirds of the
value of the territory- have heretofore filed with the City
Clerk written consent that the property in said territory be,
after annexation, subject to taxation equally with the prop-
erty within the City of Huntington Beach to pay the entire
Indebtedness of the City of Huntington Beach outstanding or
authorized at the date of the filing of the petition for an-
nexation for the acquisition, construction or completion of
municipal improvements;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Hunt-
ington Beach does hereby approve the annexation known as
"Sunset Beach No. 1 Annexation" , the territory of which is
hereinafter described, in the City of Huntington Beach, and
does hereby further ordain that the said. territory be, and

it is hereby annexed to the City of Huntington Beach.
That said territory, the annexation of which to the
City of Huntington Beach is herein approved, is _ all that
territory situated in the County of Orange, State of Califor-
nia, and more particularly described as follows :
Beginning at an angle point in the present city bound-
ary of the City of Huntington Beach, County of Orange,
State of California, said boundary having been, estab-
lished by "Huntington Harbor Corporation Annexation-
Parcel No. 1" in Ordinance No. 919 of said city, said
angle point being the intersection of the northeaster-
ly line of the right of way of Pacific Coast Highway
(U.S. Alternate 101) , 100 feet wide as per deed record-
ed in Book 410, Page 165 of Official Records of said
County and the common line between Rancho La Bolsa.
Chica and Rancho Los Alamitos, - said angle point being
in a curve concave to the southwest and having a radius
of 1060 feet, a radial line to said angle point bears
South 25 53' 18" West; thence northwesterly along
said curve and along the northeasterly line of said
Coas8 Highway right of way, through a central angle
of 2 45' 18" an arc distance of 50.97 feet to the end
of said curve; thence tangent t8 said curve and along
said right of way line North 66 52' 00" West 215.02
feet more or less to the beginning of a. tangent curve
concave to the northeast and having a radius of 950.00
feet; thence northwesterly along said curve and said
right of way line through a central angle of 60 02, 46"
an are distance of 100. 25 feet more or less to the end „
of said curve, a radial line to the end of said curve
bears North 29010,46" East; thence departing from said
curve South 24030'00" East and along said right of way,
11.70 feet more or less to the beginning of a curve
concave to the northeast and having a radius of 957.00
feet, said curve being concentric to last mentioned
curve and being on said highway right of way line a
radial line to the beginning of said curve bears North
28040'02" East; thence northwesterly along said curve
and said right of way line through a central angle of
17051'58" an arc distance of 298.41 feet more or less
to the end of said curve; thence tangent 8o said curve
and along said right of way line North 43 28' 00"
West; 100.40 feet more or less to the most westerly
corner of land conveyed to Nick Katsaris per deed re-
corded in Book 5196, Page 425 of Deeds, records of said

County; thencS along the northwesterly line of said
land North 46 32' 0011 East, 113.94 feet more or
less to an angle point in said property; thence con-
tinuing along said property South 53 0010011 East,
168.55 feet more or less to an angle point in said
�r8perty; thence continuing along said property North
52' 00" East, 208. 25 feet more or less to an-
angle point in said property, said point being also
in the northerly boundary of Location No. 141 of
State Tide Lands, described in Patent issued April
4, 1901, said point being also in the southwesterly
boundary line of the City of Seal Beach as per annex-
ation No 7 by Ordinance No. 589 of said City; thence
South 44a 15' 00" East along said City boundary and
the northerly line of said Katsaris property and the
northerly line of said Tidelands location a distance
of 77.58 feet to an angle point; thence continuing
South 730', 45' 00" East along said Seal Beach city
boundary and along said Tide Lands location Line and
said Katsaris property a distance of 654.33 feet more
or less to an angle point in the City of Seal Beach
boundary of said Annexation No. 7, said angle point
being also in the northwesterly line of the City of
_ HVIn.tington Beach boundary as per Huntington Harbor
Corporation-Parcel No. 1, Ordinance No. 919 of said
City, said angle point being on the common line between
Rancho La Bolsa Chica and Ranchos Los Alamitos ; thence
South 490 28' 0011 West along said City of Huntington
Beach boundary and the common line between Rancho La
Bolsa Chica and Rancho Los Alamitos a distance of
481-74 feet more or less to the point of beginning.

Survey Map, recorded in Records of Survey
Book 14, Page 36, Official Records of Orange
County, State of California..

The boundaries of said City of Huntington Beach
are hereby altered and the said territory above described
Is hereby annexed to, incorporated in, and included within
the City of Huntington Beach, California, and said City
shall have all rights and powers in, to and over said terri-
tory as are provided by law.
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach
does hereby further ordain that the territory above describ-
ed shall be subject to taxation equally with the property
within the City of Huntington Beach to pay the entire bonded
indebtedness of the City of Huntington Beach outstanding on.
June 3rd, 1963, the date of the filing of the Petition for
Annexation of said territory or theretofore authorized for
the acquisition, construction or completion of municipal
Improvements.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and
adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be
published by one insertion in the Huntington Beach News, a
weekly newspaper printed, published and circulated in the
City of Huntington Beach, California; and thirty days after
the adoption thereof, the same shall take effect and be in
force.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach, California, this 5th day of August ,1963,

City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach and ex-officio
Clerk of the City Council of the said City, do hereby cer-
tify that the whole number of members of the City- Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is five; that the foregoing
ordinance was read to said City Council at a regular meet-

ing thereof held on the day of 1963,and
was again read to said City Council at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 5th day of August , 1963, and
was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of more than
