AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON
BEACH APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CER-
TAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED
AS -BOLSA CHICA #4 ANNEXATION" TO THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH.
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach,
California, does ordain as follows :
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the "Annexa-
tion of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939". the City Counc-
il of the City of Huntington Beach did, on the 6th day of.
January,, 1964, pass and adopt Resolution No. 1904, giving
notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited terri-
tory to the City of Huntington' Beach,, said territory being
therein designated as "Bolsa Chica #4 Annexation" and said
action being taken by the Council of said City as the legis-
lative body of the City, pursuant to a written petition
therefore, said Resolution describing the boundaries of the
territory so proposed to be annexed to said City; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 1904, did contain a
notice of the day, hour and place when and where the said
Council of said City would hear protests made by any person
owning property within the territory proposed to be annexed,
the time of said hearing being not less than 40 nor more
than 60 days after the passage of said Resolution; and
WHEREAS, on the 17th day of February, 1964, at the

hour of 8 :00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chamber in the City
Hall of the City of Huntington Beach, State of California,
said time and place being the hour and day and place fixed
in said Resolution No. 1904 for hearing protests to the said
annexation, and no protests, either written or oral, to said
annexation having been made; and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City
of Huntington Beach, and is uninhabited territory in the
County of Orange; and
WHEREAS, the owners of more than two-thirds of the
value of the territory have heretofore filed with the City
Clerk written consent that• the property in said territory
be, after annexation, subject to taxation equally with the
property within the City of Huntington Beach to pay the entire
bonded indebtedness of the City of Huntington Beach outstand-
ing or authorized at the date of the filing of the petition
for annexation for the acquisition, construction or complet-
ion of municipal improvements,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach does hereby approve the annexation known as
"Bolsa Chica #4 Annexation", the territory of which is here-
inafter described, to the City of Huntington Beach, and does
hereby further ordain that said territory be and it is hereby
annexed to the City of Huntington Beach.
That said territory, the annexation of which to the
City of Huntington Beach is herein approved, is all that terr-

tory situated in the County of Orange, State of California,
and more particularly described as follows:
All that certain land situated in the State of Cal-
ifornia, County of Orange, described as follows :
Beginning at an angle point in the existing boundary
of the City of Huntington Beach, as established by Ordinance
No. 944, isaid angle point being the intersection of a line
parallel with and Southerly 30.00 feet from the centerline
of Warner Avenue, with the west line of Lot 1 in Block 20 of
said Tract No.86, said West line also being the centerline of
Green Street ., thence North 00 44, 3b" West 30.00 feet along
the Northerly prolongation of said West line of Lot 1 in
Block 20, to said centerline of Warner Avenue; thence North
00 40, 00" West 1320.66 feet along the West line, and its
Southerly prolongation of Block 16 of said Tract No. 86, to
the Northwest corner of said Block 16; thence North 890 39'
30" East 690. 06 feet along the North line of said Block 16,
and its Easterly prolongation, to its intersection with the
existing boundary of the City of Huntington Beach as establish-
ed by said Ordinance No. 944, said existing boundary being
parallel with and Easterly 30.00 feet from the centerline of
Bolsa Chica Street; thence along said existing boundary the
following courses, South 00 40' 00" East 1150.33 feet to the
Easterly prolongation of the Northerly line of the land de-

scribed in the lease between Edward N. Howell Company, Less-

er, and Socony Mobil Oil Company, Lessee, recorded May 23,
1962 in Book 6118, Page 910, Official Records; thence South
890 39' 30" West 215.00 feet along said prolongation and
said Northerly line to the Northwest corner of said land;
thence South 00 40, 00" East 200.33 feet along the Westerly
line, and its Southerly prolongation of said land, to a
line parallel with and Southerly 30. 00 feet from said center-
line of Warner Avenue; thence South 890 39' 30" West 475.06
feet along said parallel line to the Point of Beginning.
The boundaries of said City of Huntington Beach
are hereby altered and the said territory above described
Is hereby annexed to, incorporated in, and included within
the City of Huntington Beach, California, and said City
shall have all rights and powers in, to and over said terri-
tory as are provided by law.
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach
does hereby further ordain that the territory above describ-
ed shall be subject to taxation equally with the property
within the City of Huntington Beach to pay the entire bonded
indebtedness of the City of Huntington Beach outstanding on
January 6, 1964, the date of the filing of the Petition for
Annexation of said territory or theretofore authorized for
the acquisition, construction or completion of municipal
improvements.

The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and
adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be
published by one insertion in the Huntington Beach News,
a weekly newspaper printed, published and circulated in
the City of Huntington Beach, California; and thirty days
after the adoption thereof, the same shall take effect
and be in force.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach, California, this 2nd day of
March 1964.

I, PAUL C. JONES, the duly elected. qualified and,
acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach and ex-
officio Clerk of the City Council of the said City, do here-
by certify that the whole number of members of the City
Council of the City of Huntington Beach is five; that the
foregoing ordinance was read to said City Council at a regu-
lar meeting thereof held on the to day of Fahruary ,
1964, and was again read to said City Council at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 2nd day of March , 196 4,
and was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of more
than a majority of all the members of said City Council.
