HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #1064 ORDINANCE NO. 1064 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ADOPTING THE "UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, 1964 EDITION, VOLUME 1, INTERNAT- IONAL CONFERENCE OF BUILDING OFFICIALS"; BY REFERENCE; PROVIDING REGULATIONS RE- LATING TO BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES WITH- IN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH; PROVIDING FOR ISSUANCE OF PERMITS AND COLLECTION OF FEES THEREFOR; DECLARING AND ESTABLISHING FIRE DISTRICTS; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF and REPEALING ALL ORD- INANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach do ordain as follows: Section 1. Adoption of Uniform Building Code, 1964 Edition, Volume 1. There is hereby adopted by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, that certain code known as the "Uniform Building Code, 1964 Edition, Volume 1, and the whole thereof, for the purpose of reg- ulating the erection, construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, moving, removal, conversion, demolition, occupancy, equipment, use, height, area, and maintenance of buildings or structures in the City of Huntington Beach; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor; declaring and establishing Fire Districts; providing penalties for the violation thereof, and repealing all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict therewith, of which code not less than three (3) copies have been and now are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach and the same are hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein, and from the date of this ordinance shall take effect and the provisions thereof shall be 1. Ord. No. 1064 controlling within the corporate limits of the City of Huntington Beach. Section 2. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $500.00 of by imprisonment in the City Jail for a period of not more than six months or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each such person, firm or corporation shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each day or portion thereof during which any violations of any of the provisions of this ordinance is committed, continued, or permitted by such persons, firm or corporation and shall be punishable therefor as herein provided. Section 3. All ordinances, and parts of ordinances; in con- flict herewith, are hereby repealed. Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published by one insertion in the Huntington Beach News, a weekly newspaper, printed, published and circulated in the City of Huntington Beach, California, and thirty (30) days after the adoption thereof, the same shall take effect and be in force.
