HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #1069 ORDINANCE NO. 1069 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH RELATING TO EXPENSE ALLOWANCE FOR COUNCILMEN; AMENDING THE HUNTING- TON BEACH ORDINANCE CODE BY ADDING SECTION 1122. .1 Section 1. The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does ordain as follows: Section 2. That Section 1122 is hereby added to the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code to read in words and figures as follows: Section 1122. Expense Allowance of City Councilmen: There shall be allowed to each member of the City Council the sum of Twenty- five ($25.00) per official meeting, not to exceed two meetings per month. Said allowance is authorized to reimburse said members of the City Council for expense of attending meetings, traveling to and from their usual place of business to said meetings, traveling to and from property under consideration for action by the City Council, and all other expenses of their duties as Councilmen. The expense authorized hereunder need not be accounted for by the recipients, but no other expenses shall be allowed except upon specific authorization therefor by the City Council. Section 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published by one insertion in the Huntington Beach News, a weekly newspaper, printed, published and circulated in the City of Huntington Beach, California, 1 Ord. No. 1069 and thirty '30, days after the adoption thereof, the same shall take effect and be in force. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, this .15th day of June, 1964. JONES, the duly elected, qualified and acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach and ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of the said City, do hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach is five; that the foregoing ordinance was read to said City Council at a regular meeting thereof held on the lst day of June 1964, and was again read to said City Council at a regular meeting thereof held on the 15th day of June 1964, and was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of more than a majority of all the mem- bers of said City Council.
