HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #1100 ORDINANCE NO. 1100 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AMENDING SECTIONS OF ARTICLE 353 AND 363 OF THE HUNTINGTON BEACH ORDINANCE CODE. The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does ordain as follows : Section 1. That secti.on 3530 of the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code is hereby amended, and as amended shall read in words and figures as follows : Section 3530. service Fee. The Water Department, as a condition to granting the application and furnishing water service to the premeses , is authorized to charge and shall collect .in advance the following sums for the purpose of reimbursing the City for the cost of the system and future replacements and extensions thereof. (a ) The sum of Thirty and no/100 ( 30.00) Dollars for each dwelling unit on parcels containing less than ten-thous- and (10,00) square feet. A "dwelling unit19 shall be each residential quarter in hotels, apartments, and motels, and each trailer space pro- viding permanent facilities in trailer parks. (b) For any parcel containing ten-thousand (10,000) square feet of area or more, One Hundred and Fifty and no/100 ($150.00) Dollars peracre or each fraction thereof, or Thirty and n0/100 ($30. 00) Dollars -per dwelling unit, whichever is greater. A t°dwelling unit" shall be any unit defined .in 3530 (a ) above. The charge of $150. 00 per acre shall apply to all -1- Ord . No. 1100 commercial and manufacturing developements, and those portions of trailer parks which accommodate overnight parking. (c) Those areas served by a water main constructed and charged as determined by another ordinance or executed agreement may be exempt from the dwelling unit charge in 3530 (a ) if said other ordinance or agreement charge is greater than charge per said 3530 (a ) • Section 2. That the last sentence in section 3531 be added to the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code and shall read in words and figures as follows: 9A charge of $1.00 shall be made for . each dwelling unit in excess of one connected to each meter. Section 3. That Section 3631 of the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code is hereby amended, and as amended shall read in words and figures as follows : Section 16'31, service Fee. The Sanitation Department, as a condition to granting the application and furnishing sewer service to the premises, is authorized to charge and shall collect in advance the following sums for the purpose of reimbursing the City for the cost of the system and future replacements and extensions thereof. (a ) The sum of Ninety and no/100 ($90.00) Dollars for the firstdwelling unit, plus- the sum of Sixty and n0/100 (w60. 00 ) Dollars for each additional dwelling unit on parcels containing less than ten-thousand (10, 000 ) square feet in area, except those properties covered by sections 3631 (c) and/or (d) . -2- Ord . No. 1100 A "dwelling unit" shall be each residential quarter in hotels, apartments, and motels, each trailer space pro- viding permanent facilities in trailer parks. (b) For any parcel containing ten-thousand (10,000) square feet of area or more, Three Hundred and n0/100 ($300.00 ) Dollars peracre or each fraction thereof or Sixty and n0/100 ($60.00 ) Dollars perdwal] ing: unit whichever is greater, except those properties covered by Sections 3631 (c) and/or (d) . A "dwelling unit" shall be any unit which is included in the definition as given in Section 3631 (a ) . 300. 00 per acre shall apply to all commercial and manufacturing developments, and those portions of trailer parks which ac- commodate overnight parking. (c ) In the area bounded on the west by 23rd Street and Golden West Street, on the east by Beach Boulevard, on the south by the Pacific Coast Highway and on the north by Clay Street the service fee for the first unit will not be charged but sixty and no/100 360. 00) for each "dwelling unit" in excess of one perlot will be charged, except those properties covered by Sections 3631 (d) . (d) For those areas served by a sanitary sewer con- structed and charged on a front foot basis as determined by a separate agreement or by a separate section of the ordinance, the amounts specified in said agreement or ordin- ance shall be charged, unless these amounts are less than that provided in sections 3631 (a ) , (b) or (c) . The ordin- ance or agreement which would provide the greater fee will apply• -3- Ord . No. 1100 Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the pass- age and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published by one insertion in the Huntington Beach Hews, a weekly newspaper printed, published and circulated In the City of Huntington Beach, California ; and thirty days (30) after the adoption thereof, the same shall take effect and be in force.
