HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #1139 ORDINANCE No. 1139 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH RENUMBERING AND CODIFYING ORDINANCE NO. 1064, ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ON JULY 20th, 1964- The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does ordain as follows : Section 1. That Ordinance No.1064 of the City of Hunt- ington Beach, adopted by the City Council of said City on July 20th, 1964, is hereby codified and renumbered in accord- ance with such codification, as shown in Ordinance No.1064- set forth in its entirety with Section Numbers included there- in changed and amended, as follows : " ORDINANCE No.1064 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ADOPTING THE 'UNIFORM BUILDING CODE21964 EDITION, VOLUME 1,INTERNAT- IONAL CONFERENCE OF BUILDING OFFICIALS' , BY REFERENCE: PROVIDING REGULATIONS RE- LATING TO BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES WITH- IN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH;PROVIDING FOR ISSUANCE OF PERMITS AND COLLECTION OF FEES THEREFOR;DECLARING AND ESTABLISHING . FIRE DISTRICTS; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach. do or- dain as follows: Section 8111. Adoption of Uniform Buildin& Code, 1964- Edition, Volume 1. There is hereby adopted by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, that certain code known as 1* Ord. No 1139 the 'Uniform Building Code, 1964 Edition, Volume l,' and the whole thereof, for the purpose of 'regulating the erection, construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, moving, re- moval, conversion, demolition, occupancy, equipment, use height, area , and maintenance of buildings or structures in the City of Huntington Beach; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor; declaring and estab- lishing Fire Districts ; providing penalties for the violation thereof, and repealing all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict therewith, of which code not less than three (3) copies have been and now are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach and the same are hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein, and from the date of this ordinance shall take effect and the provisions thereof shall be controlling within the corporate limits of the City of Huntington Beach. Section 8137 . Penalty. Any person, firm or corpora- tion violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine of not more than 500.00 or by Imprisonment in the City Jail for a period of not more than six months or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each such person, firm or corporation shall be deemed guilty of a sepa- rate offense for each day or portion thereof during which any violations of any of the provisions of this ordinance is com- mitted, continued, or permitted by such persons, firm or cor- poration and shall be punishable therefor as herein provided. 2. Ord.No. 1139 Section 3. All ordinances , and parts of. ordinances, in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed. Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the pass- age and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published by one insertion in the Huntington Beach News, a weekly newspaper, printed, published and circulated in the City of Huntington Beach, California , and thirty (30) days after the adoption thereof, the same shall take effect and be in force.
