HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #1140 1140 ORDINANCE No. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH RELATING TO DISTRICTING; AMENDING THE HUNTINGTON BEACH ORDINANCE CODE BY ADDING SECTIONS THERETO AND AMENDING SECTIONS THEREOF. The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does ordain as follows : Section 1. That the following sections are hereby add- ed to the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code, to read in words and figures , as follows : S2RLL2E_.24l2.1. Exceptions. Section 9412.11. Maximum sign height within the front yard setback: 50 feet Section 9473.1. Exceptions. Section 2473.11. Maximum sign height within the front yard setback: 50 feet Section 2. That the following sections are hereby amended, and as amended shall read in words and figures as follows: Section 9106.4. Garages Facing a Street. Any parking space in the front one-half of the lot shall be in a fully enclosed building equipped with a door to provide for its complete enclosure, Section 2411. Signs. Only signs pertaining to the bus- iness of the occupants of premises shall be permitted in the C-1 Neighborhood Commercial District. Lighted or unlighted signs which are not attached to the building may be erected in the front yard under the following conditions. (a ) The sign area shall not exceed one square foot for each lineal foot of premises frontage but not to exceed 200 square feet maximum. In all cases a minimum sign area of 25 sq.ft, shall be permitt- ed. 1 Ord. No. 1140 (b) Prior to locating any detached sign or signs with- in twenty (20) feet of either side lot line, per- mission shall first be obtained from the owner or lessee of the adjoining property nearest the sign location and filed with the Building Department. For the purpose of this Section a detached sign shall be defined as a sign which projects more than one (1) foot from the surface of a building. (c) If the sign is over 5 feet in height, the bottom thereof shall not be less than 10 feet above the ground surface. (d) If the sign is not attached to the building,each support shall not exceed 8 inches in diameter or width and if more than one support is used, a clear unobstructed opening of not less than 30 inches wide shall be provided and maintained be- tween supports. Section 9412. Height and Area 8eauirements. Minimum lot area: None Minimum lot dimensions : None Maximum building height: 35 feet. Section 9434•. Suns.
