AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AMENDING SECTIONS
9511, 953000 and 9553.3 RELATING TO THE
STORAGE OF SANITARY FACILITIES, EXPLOSIVES
AND OTHER MATERIAL AND ADDING SECTION 9711.1
RELATING TO ABATEMENT OF NON-CONFORMING USE
AND SECTION 9730.24*'PERTAINING TO SCREENING
OF ROOFTOP MECHANICAL FEATURES TO THE HUNT-
INGTON BEACH ORDINANCE CODE.
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach
does ordain as follows:
Section 1. That the following sections of the
Huntington Beach Ordinance Code are hereby amended, and as
amended, shall read in words and figures, as follows:
S. 9511. Soap Manufacture
Storage Yards-see screening requirements(storage
of outdoor portable sanitation facil-
ities, such as :: privys, outhouses
and other similar out-buildings shall
be prohibited) .
S• 9530(tC) Caretakers dwelling on factory premises.
Carpet cleaning plants.
Cleaning and dyeing plants.
Contractor's storage yards(except storage of out- door
portable sanitation facilities,
such as:- privys,outhouses and
other similar out-buildingslshall
be prohibited.
Cosmetics, manufacture of.
Creameries and dairy products manufacturing
S• 9553.3 Storage. Storage of explosives, excepting petrole-
um products. Storage of all outdoor
portable sanitation Facilities, such as : privys, outhouses and
other similar out-buildings shall be prohibited.
Section 2. That the following sections are hereby
added to Division 9 of the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code
and shall read in words and figures as follows:

S. 9711.1 Abatement of Nonconforming Use - The nonconforming
use of land for
the storage of outdoor portable sanitation facilities, such
as: privys, outhouses and other similar out-buildings shall
be abated within. six (6) months from the effective date of
this ordinance.
S• 9730. 264' Screening of Rooftop Mechanical Features. Rooftop
appurtenances, such as: ventilators, air-condit-
coning units, heaters and similar mechanloal features on pro-
fessional, commercial, industrial and quasi-public or public
buildings shall be screened from view either by the upward
extension of parapets or by an enclosure having permanent
screening. Air vents, exhausts and ducts, where necessary,
according to the Building Code, may extend above or outside
this screening.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the pass-
age and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same
to be published by one insertion in the Huntington Beach News,
a weekly newspaper printed, published and circulated in the
City of Huntington Beach, California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
Of Huntington Beach, California, this 20th day of February 9
1967.

meeting thereof held on the 6th day of February ,
19 67 and was again read to said City Council at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 20th day of February ,
19L-L_, and was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of
more than a majority of all the members of said City Council.
