AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA
ESTABLISHING A "RECREATION .ANDi�_PARKS
FACILITIES FUND" AND ELIMINATING THE
CURRENT "RECREATION FUND"
WHEREAS, Section 1215 of the City Charter of the City
of Huntington Beach provides for the establishment of appropr-
iate or desirable funds; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to establish and
create a fund to be known as 0PRe-cr:eat:L6n, and=.Parks Facilities
Fund", the purpose of which will be to provide a fund for
which revenue may be received and from which expenditures may
be made for the maintenance, operation, acquisition, improvement
and development of City parks and recreation facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City Council specifies that revenue to
maintain this fund will be derived from the hereinafter listed
sources :
1. A sum not to exceed $ .20 per one
hundred dollars of assessed property
valuation as specified in the City
Charter as being provided for parks
and recreation.
2. Revenues derived from issuance of
Subdivision License Fees .
3. Revenues derived from issuance of
Unit Lot Fees.
4. Revenues derived under existing
ordinances or resolutions applicable
to royalties and easements .
5. Revenue from other agencies in payment
or support of mutual recreational pro-
grams, projects or activities.
6 . Revenue from parks or recreation service
charges or fees; and
WHEREAS, the City Council specifies that expenditures
may be made from this fund only in payment of amounts necessary
to operate, maintain, acquire property, improve or develop
facilities, or purchase needed equipment which may be deemed
necessary by the City Council to properly provide parks and
recreational facilities for the citizens of Huntington Beach;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach does ordain as follows
Section 1. That a fund entitled "Re•creation.and,
Parr Facilities Fund" is hereby established.
Section 2. That the present fund entitled "Recrea-
tion Fund" be eliminated upon the effective date of this
ordinance.
Section 3 . That the monies in the present Recrea-
tion Fund, upon the effective date of this ordinance, shall be
immediately transferred to the Recreation. and-Parks Facilities
Fund.
Section 4. That expenditures currently charged to
divisions No. 790 and 791 be, upon effective date of this
ordinance, transferred to the Recreation}'andcParks Facilities
Fund.
Section 5. That the aforementioned sources of
revenue as specified be placed in this fund and that the

aforementioned expenditures as specified be charged to this
fund.
Section 6. That the Director of Finance is hereby
authorized to initiate the necessary transfers and to provide
the necessary records to reflect the establishment of the
new fund.
Section 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the
same to be published by one insertion in the Huntington
Beach News, a weekly newspaper, printed, published and circu-
lated in the City of Huntington Beach, California, and thirty
(30) days thereafter, it will be in full force and effect.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach, California, at a regular meeting held
on the 2nd day of October , 1967.
