AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CER-
TAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "NEWLAND
ANNEXATION #3" TO THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH-
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does or-
dain as follows:
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of
Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, proceedings were initiated by
the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach in Resolution No.
2648, adopted October 23rd, 1967, and on its own motion as provid-
ed in Section 35310 of the Government Code, to annex to the City
Of Huntington Beach certain uninhabited territory situate in the
County of Orange, State of California , designated in said Resolu-
tion No. 2648 as "Newland Annexation #3sr, which said territory is
included within the City of Fountain Valley,
The City of Fountain Valley has consented to said annexa-
tion by resolution and has received the written consent of at
least two-thirds of the owners of the real property in the terr-
itory holding at least two-thirds in value of the real property
in the territory;
Said Resolution No. 2648 did designate December 49 19679
at the hour of 7:30 p.m. at the regular meeting place of the City
Council, at 5th and Orange Streets, Huntington Beach, as
the time and place at which the City Council would hear written

protests from any owner of property within the territory pro-
posed to be annexed, which said date is not less than 40 nor
more than 60 days after the passage of said resolution; and
At the time and place aforesaid, a majority protest
to said annexation was not made as set forth in Section 35313
of the Government Code.
NOW, THEREFORE: The City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach does hereby approve and does hereby declare
annexed to the City of Huntington Beach, the territory describ-
ed as "Newland Annexation #31' and legally described as
follows :

Commencing at the northeast corner of the south-
east one quarter of the southwest one quarter of Section
36, Township 5 South, Range 11 west, San Bernardino Baseo
and Meridian, Orange County, California; thence south 89
38' 35" west, along the northerly line of said southeast
one quarter, 792.55 feet to the True point of Beginning;
thence north 160 51# 26" east 412.63 feet to a point; thence
north 52 24' 34" west 199. 21 feet to a point, said point
lying within the northerly right of way line of Ellis Avenue
40.00 feet in width as now laid out; thence north 890 361
56" east alon� said northerly right of way lin8 of Ellis
Avenue, 195.0 feet to -a point; thence south 0 49, 14',
east, along the east line and its northerly prolongation
of the northwest one quarter of the northeast one quarter
of the southwest one quarter of said Section 36:, 680.88
feet to the southeast corner of the northwest one quarter
of the northeast one quarter og the southwest one quarter
of Section 36; thence south 89 37, 45" west, along the
south line of the northwest one quarter of the northeast
one garter of the southwest one quarter 8f said section
369 64.29 feet to a point; thence south 0 49, 081, east,
along the west line of the east 11 acres of the south one
half of the northeast one quarter of the southwest one
quarter of said Section 36, 660,86 feet to a point; thence
south 890 38' 35" west, along the south line of the north-
east one quarter of the southwest one quarter of said
Section 67.46 feet to the True point of Beginning.
The boundaries of said City of Huntington Beach are
hereby altered and the said territory above described is
hereby annexed to, incorporated in, and included within the
City of Huntington Beach, California, and said City shall
have all rights and powers in, to and over said territory
as are provided by law,
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does
hereby further ordain that the territory above described shall
be subject to taxation equally with the property within the
City of Huntington Beach to pay the entire bonded indebtedness
of the City of Huntington Beach outstanding on. October 23;1967,
the date of the filing of the Petition for Annexation of said

territory or theretofore authorized for the acquisition,
construction or completion of municipal improvements.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adopt-
ion of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published
by one insertion in the Huntington Beach News, a weekly news-
paper printed, published and circulated in the City of Hunting-
ton Beach, California ; and thirty days after the adoption
thereof, the same shall take effect and be in force.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach, California, this 18th day of December ,
1967.

I , PAUL C. JONES, the duly elected, qualified, and
acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach and ex-
officio Clerk of the City Council of the said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing
ordinance was read to said City Council at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 4th day of December
19 67 and was again read to said City Council at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 18th day of December
19 67 , and was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of
more than a majority of all the members of said City Council.
