AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH MAKING PROVISION FOR
THE DISPOSITION OF AN ABANDONED CABIN
CRUISER OBSTRUCTING THE NAVIGABLE WATERS
OF HUNTINGTON HARBOR WITHIN THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH, PURSUANT TO STATE HAR-
BORS AND NAVIGATION CODE, SECTION 522
WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach Lifeguard Department,
on or about March 13, 1968 , retrieved adrift the hulk of the
cabin cruiser "El-Band-Dedo, " CF 7279At , from county Channel and
Admiralty Bridge, Area 162, which was obstructing the navigable
waters of Huntington Harbor within the City of Huntington Beach; and
The state Department of Harbors and Watercraft has notified
the City of Huntington Beach that a Harvey S . Green, 1507 Ocean
Avenue, Apartment A. Seal Beach, California is the registered owner
of said vessel; and
Said vessel hulk has remained abandoned in an unseaworthy and
dilapidated condition upon publicly-owned, submerged tidelands
within the corporate limits of the City of Huntington Beach for a
period longer than one hundred days without a watchman or other
person being maintained upon or near and in charge of such property;
and
Said Harvey S . Green has been given more than the five days
notice required by Section 522 of the Harbors and Navigation Code;
and
The provisions of Section 522 of the Harbors and Navigation
Code provide that an ordinance may be passed causing an abandoned
vessel to be sold, destroyed or otherwise disposed of in such
manner as the City Council may deem expedient or convenient and which
may be specified in the ordinance ; and
It is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public

peace, health and safety that an ordinance be adopted providing
for the disposition of said abandoned vessel hulk heretofore de-
scribed,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach does ordain as follows :
That the hulk of the cabin cruiser "El-Band-Dedo, " CF 7279At,
shall be disposed of by the Lifeguard Department of the City of
Huntington Beach in a manner deemed expedient and convenient by
the chief lifeguard of the City of Huntington Beach within ten
days after the effective date of this ordinance . Any and all
monies received from the disposition of said hulk shall be de-
posited in the city treasury .
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Hunting-
ton Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 15th day of
July, 1968 .
