Home My WebLink AboutOrdinance #1498 ORDINANCE NO. 1498 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AMENDING THE HUNTINGTON BEACH ORDINANCE CODE BY AMENDING DISTRICT MAP 31 TO INCLUDE PRE- CISE PLAN NO. 69-1, ELIMINATING THE CONNEC- TION BETWEEN KEELSON LANE AND ELM STREET TO TERMINATE EACH OF SAID STREETS IN CUL-DE-SACS WHEREAS, pursuant to the Conservation and Planning Law, the Planning Commission of the City of Huntington Beach on February 18, 1969 , after notice duly given, held public hearing relative to Precise Plan No. 69-1 to eliminate the connection between Keelson Lane and Elm Street to terminate each of said streets in a cul-de-sac; and On March 5, 1969, after notice duly given pursuant to law, hearing was held before this Council on the proposed street alignment , and the matter having been considered, the Council finds that the elimination of the connection between Keelson Lane and Elm Street, by terminating such streets in cul-de-sacs is reasonably necessary to the orderly and ef- ficient flow of traffic, for the preservation of the health and safety of the inhabitants of the city and for the orderly development of the community . Said streets are located approximately six hundred (600) feet north of Slater Avenue, three hundred thirty (330) feet west of Beach Boulevard, and more particularly described as follows : KEELSON LANE: Beginning at the center line intersection of Beach Boulevard and Slater Avenue as per Tract 4301, recorded in Book 177, pages 11 and 12 of Miscellaneous Maps , Records of Orange County . Thence north 0145 , 14" west 660 . 23 feet; thence south 89024 ' 38" west 463 . 08 feet; thence north 0045106" east 339 . 57 feet to the point of beginning. Thence north 0045 ' 06" east 20 . 00 feet to a point of 1. tangency with a curve concave easterly having a radius of 50 . 00 feet; thence northeasterly along said curve a distance of 32 .18 feet through a central angle of 36°52112" to a point of tangency with a curve concave southerly having a radius of 50 . 00 feet; thence northerly, westerly and southerly along said curve a dis- tance of 221. 43 feet through a central angle of 253044124" to a point of tangency with a curve concave westerly having a radius of 50 . 00 feet; thence southerly along said curve a distance of 32 . 18 feet through a central angle of 36052112" to a point of tangency with a line; thence south 0045106"east along said line a distance of 20 . 00 feet ; thence north 89024 ' 38" east 60 . 00 feet back to the true point of be- ginning. AND ELM STREET: Beginning at a point 26 . 00 feet west of the center line of Elm Street and 1150 feet more or less north of the south line of the north half of the northeast quarter of Section 26, Township 5 South, Range 11 West, thence southerly, westerly and northerly along a curve, having a radius of 46 . 00 feet, a distance of 191. 15 feet more or less, through a central angle of 238030 ' 00", more or less , to a point of tangency with a curve concave northwesterly having a radius of 35 . 00 feet, more or less ; thence north- erly along said curve a distance of 35 . 58 feet, more or less , through a central angle of 58015 ' 00" , more or less, to a point on a line . Said point being 26 . 00 feet .-east of the center line of Elm Street and 80 . 00 feet north, more or less , from the above-mentioned section line; thence east 52 . 00 feet; thence southerly 68 . 50 feet, more or less , to the point of beginning. EXCEPTING therefrom that portion lying north of the south line of the north half of the north- east quarter of Section 26, Township 5 South, Range 11 West . NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby ordain as follows : SECTION 1.
