HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #1614 ORDINANCE NO. 1614 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION OF THE CALIFORNIA PUB- LIC EMPLOYEES ' RETIREMENT SYSTEM The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does ordain as follows : SECTION 1 . That an amendment to the contract between the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach and the Board of Administration, California Public Employees ' Retirement System is hereby authorized, a copy of said amendment being attached hereto, marked "Exhibit A, " and by such reference made a part hereof as though herein set out in full . SECTION 2 . The Mayor of the City of Huntington Beach is hereby authorized, empowered, and directed to execute said amend- ment for and on behalf of said agency . SECTION 3 • This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after the date of its adoption, and prior to the expiration of fifteen days from the passage thereof shall be published at least once in the Huntington Beach News, a newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated in the City of Huntington Beach, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect . With respect to miscellaneous members# the public agency shall contribute the following percentages of monthly salaries earned as miscellaneous members of said Systems (1) 5•692 percent on account of the liability fear current service benefits* (2) $5 00 per month for each member covered under the provisions of Section 21380-7 (1959 Survivors Program). b. With respect to local safety members., the public agency shall contribute the following percentages of monthly salaries earned as local safety members of said Systems (1) 9.882 percent on account of the liability .for current service benefits. (2) $5,00 per month for each member covered under the provisions of Section 21380-7 (1959 Survivors Prograam)# c. A reasonable amount per annum, as fixed by Beard to cover the costs of administering said System as it affects the employees of Public Agency* not including the costs of spacial valuations or the periodical investigations and valuation required by law, provided that said amount shall be determined on the basis of the number of employees of Public Agency who are reported as members on a payroll designated by the System covering one month of each year,, or with respect to the first year of participation.* on the effective elate of said participation. d.
