Home My WebLink AboutOrdinance #1693 ORDINANCE NO. 1693 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AMENDING THE HUNTINGTON BEACH ORDINANCE CODE BY AMENDING SECTION 9061 THEREOF TO PROVIDE FOR CHANGE OF ZONING ON REAL PROPERTY LOCATED ON NORTH SIDE OF BOARDWALK DRIVE, WEST OF AL- GONQUIN STREET (ZONE CASE NO. 71-20 , AREA "C") WHEREAS, pursuant to the Conservation and Planning Law, the Huntington- Beach Planning Commission and Huntington Beach City Council have had separate public hearings relative to Zone Change Case No. 71-20 , Area "C" wherein both bodies have carefully con- sidered all information presented at said hearings , and after due consideration of the findings and recommendations of the Planning Commission and all evidence presented to said City Council, the City Council finds that such zone change is proper, NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does ordain as follows : SECTION 1. The following described real property, located on the north side of Boardwalk Drive , west of Algonquin Street , is hereby changed from C4 , "Highway Commercial District" to R3 , "Limited Multiple Family Residence District : " A portion of the eastern half of the southwest quarter of Section 20 , Township 5 South, Range 11 West , in the City of Huntington Beach, County of Orange , State of California, as shown on a map recorded in Book 51, page 13 of Miscellaneous Maps , Records of said County , said portion described as follows : Beginning at the center of said Section 20 ; thence south 0040109" east 919 .54 feet along the center line of Algonquin Street , 40 feet wide as shown on a Record of Survey map , recorded in Book 58 , pages 35 and 36 , Records of said county , said center line being the quarter section line of said Section 20 ; thence south 89019 ' 51" west 40 .00 feet to the true point of beginning; thence parallel- with said center line and 40 feet distant south 1 . 0040109" east 320 .73 feet to a point hereby desig- nated as Point "A; " thence south 89019 ' 51" west 62 .00 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve con- cave to the north having a radius of 160 feet; thence westerly along said curve through a central angle of 19041 'll" , a distance of 54 .97 feet to the beginning of a reverse curve concave to the south having a radius of 20 feet ; thence westerly along said curve through a central angle of 71°11 ' 39" a distance of 24 .85 feet to the beginning of a reverse curve concave to the northwest having a radius of 790 feet ; thence southwesterly along said curve through a central angle of 21031' 04" a dis- tance of 296 .69 feet ; thence tangent to said curve south 59020127" west 245 . 13 feet more or less to a point on the northerly line of a parcel of land dedicated to said City of Huntington Beach for the right of way of Boardwalk Drive as recorded in Book 8460 , page 524 of Official Records of said County; thence along said right of way north 76149114" west 22 . 24 feet to the beginning of a tan- gent curve concave to the south having a radius of 160 feet ; thence westerly along said curve through a central angle of 43°50 ' 19" a distance of 122 .42 feet; thence tangent to said curve south 59020127" west 37 .69 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve con- cave to the north having a radius of 20 feet; thence westerly along said curve through a central angle of 90000100" a distance of 31 . 42 feet to a point on the easterly line of Saybrook Lane , 60 feet wide as shown on a map of Tract 5360 , recorded in Book 200 , pages 6 to 14 of Miscellaneous Maps , Records of said county; thence along said easterly line tangent to said curve north 30039 ' 33" west 578 .04 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave to the northeast having a radius of 1420 feet ; thence northwesterly along said curve through a central angle of 4010 ' 34" a distance of 103 .50 feet to the beginning of a curve concave to the east having a radius of 20 feet ; thence leaving said easterly line of Saybrook Lane, northerly along said curve through a central angle of 85049126" a dis- tance of 29 .96 feet ; thence tangent to said curve north 59020127" east 67 . 21 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave to the northwest having a radius of 210 feet ; thence northeasterly along said curve through a central angle of 59015 ' 57" , a distance of 217 . 22 feet to the beginning of a reverse curve concave to the southeast having a radius of 20 feet ; thence north- easterly along said curve through a central angle of 89034120" a distance of 31 . 27 feet ; thence tangent to said curve north 89038 ' 50" east 420 .41 feet; thence 2 . south 0°21110" east 192 .52 feet; thence north 89119 ' 51" east 500 . 55 feet more or less to the true point of be- ginning. Beginning at Point "A, " designated herein, thence along southern boundary south 89019 '51" west 62 .00 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave to the north having a radius of 160 feet ; thence westerly along said curve through a central angle of 19041111" a distance of 54 .97 feet to the beginning of a reverse curve concave to the south having a radius of 20 feet ; thence westerly along said curve through a central angle of 71011 ' 39" a distance of 24 . 85 feet to the be- ginning of a reverse curve concave to the northwest having a radius of 790 feet ; thence southwesterly along said curve through a central angle of 21031104" a dis- tance of 296 .69 feet ; thence tangent to said curve south 59120127" west 245 .13 feet more or less to a point on the northerly line of a parcel of land dedi- cated to said City of Huntington Beach for the right of way of Boardwalk Drive , as recorded in Book 8460 , page 524 of Official Records of said County; thence along said right of way south 76049114" east 100 . 19 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave to the north having a radius of 470 feet ; thence easterly along said curve through a central angle of 13050 ' 55" a dis- tance of 113 . 60 feet ; thence tangent to said curve north 89019 '51" east 334 .28 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave to the northwest having a radius of 30 feet ; thence northeasterly along said curve through a central angle of 90000100" a distance of 47 .12 feet to the most northeasterly point of said par- cel dedicated for the Boardwalk Drive right of way , said point being a point on a line parallel with and 40 feet distant from the center line of Algonquin Street ; thence tangent to said curve and along said parallel line north 0040109" west 319 .73 feet more or less to the point of beginning. SECTION 2 . The Planning Director of the City of Huntington Beach is hereby directed to change District Map 23 (Sectional District Map 20-5-11) to incorporate the zone change described in Section 1 hereof, and as said district map shall have been amended, the same shall remain in full force and effect and be a part of the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code . A copy of said dis- trict map , as amended hereby, is available for inspection in the office of the City Clerk. SECTION 3 . Section 9061, District Map 23 thereof, is hereby amended by- Zone Change Case No. 71-20 , Area "C ," effective Aug- 3 . u5 19724 SECTION 4 . This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its adoption. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and cause same to be published within fifteen days after adoption in the Huntington Beach News , a weekly newspaper of gen- eral circulation, printed and published in Huntington Beach, Cali- fornia.
