AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
AMENDING THE HUNTINGTON BEACH ORDINANCE CODE
BY AMENDING SECTION 9061 THEREOF TO PROVIDE
FOR CHANGE OF ZONING ON REAL PROPERTY LOCATED
ON WEST SIDE OF 17TH STREET, SOUTH OF ADAMS
AVENUE EXTENDED (ZONE CASE NO . 72-16, ISLAND
"L" )
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Conservation and Planning Law,
the Huntington Beach Planning Commission and Huntington Beach
City Council have had separate public hearings relative to Zone
Case No. 72-16 , Island "L" wherein both bodies have carefully
considered all information presented at said hearings, and after
due consideration of the findings and recommendations of the
Planning Commission and all evidence presented to said City
Council, the Council finds that such zone change is proper,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach does ordain as follows :
SECTION 1. The following described real property, located
on the west side of 17th Street, 37 feet south of Adams Avenue
extended, is hereby changed from R1-0 to R1-01 and from R1-01
to Rl-0, "Single-family Residence District" combined with oil
production:
Those portions of Lots A and B of Tract No .
260 in the City of Huntington Beach, County of
Orange, State of California, as per map recorded
in Book 13, page 34 of Miscellaneous Maps in the
office of the County Recorder of said county, to-
gether with that portion of Wesley Avenue as shown
on the map of said Tract No . 260, vacated by reso-
lution of the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach, a copy of which was recorded September 12,
1966 in Book 8044, page 78 of Official Records of
said county, and portions of Parcels 1, 23 3 and 4
of a parcel map recorded in Book 40, page 40 of
1.
Parcel Maps in the office of the County Recorder of
said county, more particularly described as follows :
WELL ISLAND "L: " Beginning at the center line
intersection of 17th Street and Palm Avenue as said
intersection is shown on the above said maps ; thence
northeasterly along the center line of 17th Street
north 41039 , 49" east 1303 . 56 feet; thence north
48020 ' 38" west 50 . 00 feet to the true point of be-
ginning; thence north 48°20 ' 38" west 61 . 50 feet;
thence north 41139 ' 35" east 60 . 00 feet; thence
north 48021125" west 230 . 00 feet; thence north
41°39 ' 35" east 163 . 50 feet; thence north 48021125"
west 45 . 00 feet; thence north 41039 ' 35" east 60. 00
feet; thence south 48°21125" east 336 . 52 feet; thence
south 41°39149" west 283 . 51 feet to the true point
of beginning, containing 1. 642 acres .
SECTION 2 . The Planning Director of the City of Huntington
Beach is hereby directed to change District Map 2 (Sectional
District Map 2-6-11) to incorporate the zone change described
in Section 1 hereof, and as said district map shall have been
amended, the same shall remain in full force and effect and
be a part of the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code . A copy of
said district map, as amended hereby, is available for inspec-
tion in the office of the City Clerk.
Section 3. Section 9061, District Map 2 thereof, is
hereby amended by Zone Case No. 72-16, Island "L, " effective
August, 1972 .
SECTION 4 . This ordinance shall take effect thirty days
after its adoption. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this ordinance and cause same to be published within fifteen
days after adoption in the Huntington Beach News , a weekly news-
paper of general circulation, printed and published in Huntington
Beach, California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 17th
day of July, 1972 .
