HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #1929 v ORDINANCE NO. 1929 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AMENDING THE HUNTINGTON BEACH ORDINANCE CODE BY REPEALING ARTICLE 634, AND ADDING A NEW ARTICLE 634 ENTITLED, "PARKING REGULATIONS IN CITY-OWNED PARKING LOTS" The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does ordain as follows : SECTION 1 . Article 634, entitled "Parking Regulations in City Parking lots" , of the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code is hereby repealed. SECTION 2 . The Huntington Beach Ordinance Code is hereby amended by adding thereto Article 634, entitled "Parking Regulations in City-Owned Parking Lots" , to read as follows : ARTICLE 634 PARKING REGULATIONS IN CITY-OWNED PARKING LOTS 6341. The following regulations shall apply to City- owned parking lots other than City-owned beach parking lots . (a) The driver of a motor vehicle shall be permitted to park within designated spaces only . (b ) No person shall obstruct the flow of traffic in any parking lot . (c ) No person driving, in control of, or in charge of, a motor vehicle shall obstruct any entrance or any right-of-way in any parking lot . (d) When signs or curb markings regulating parking have been determined by the Director of Public Works to be necessary and are in place giving notice thereof, no operator of any vehicle shall stop, stand, or park said vehicle in violation thereof. (e ) The City Administrator shall have the authority to designate reserved parking areas in City-owned parking lots . (f) No unauthorized vehicle shall park in a reserved parking area where signs are posted giving notice of such reserved parking. JG: cs 1 . v 6342. VIOLATION. PENALTY. Any person violating any provision of this Chapter, upon a conviction thereof, shall be guilty of an INFRACTION, and punishable by a fine not to exceed One Hundred Dollars ( $100) . SECTION 3 . The provisions of this ordinance insofar as they are substantially the same as existing provisions of the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code relating to the same subject matter shall be construed as restatements and continuations and not as new enactments . SECTION 4 . This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its adoption. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and cause same to be published within fifteen days after adoption in the Huntington Beach News , a weekly newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in Huntington Beach, California.
