AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
AMENDING THE HUNTINGTON BEACH ORDINANCE CODE
BY REPEALING ARTICLE 753, AND ADDING A NEW
ARTICLE 753 ENTITLED, "PARKING REGULATIONS
FOR CITY-OWNED BEACH PARKING LOTS"
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does
ordain as follows :
SECTION 1. Article 753, entitled "Beach Parking Lot
Regulations" , of the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code is hereby
repealed.
SECTION 2 . The Huntington Beach Ordinance Code is hereby
amended by adding thereto Article 753, entitled "Parking
Regulations for City-Owned Beach Parking Lots" , to read as
follows :
ARTICLE 753
PARKING REGULATIONS FOR CITY-OWNED BEACH PARKING LOTS
7531. PARKING REGULATIONS. The following regulations
shall apply to any of the City-owned beach parking lots :
(a) The driver of a motor vehicle shall be permitted to
park within designated spaces only .
(b) Motor vehicle parking shall be permitted from 5 : 00
A.M. to 12 :00 midnight except as provided for elsewhere in
this Chapter.
(c) Motor vehicle overnight parking is not permitted
except as provided for elsewhere in this Chapter.
(d) The Director of Harbors and Beaches shall have the
right to provide exceptions to the parking lot hours .
(e) No person shall obstruct the flow of traffic in any
parking lot.
(f) No person driving, in control of, or in charge of, a
motor vehicle shall obstruct any entrance or right-of-way in
any parking lot .
(g) No person shall be permitted to park any trailer or
similar vehicle in any beach parking lot from June 1 to
September 15 of each year.

(h) Fees for parking motor vehicles shall be established
by resolution of the City Council.
(i) Any person driving a motor vehicle which exits the
parking lot shall pay the required fee prior to re-entering
the parking lot .
(j ) The number of parking permits per concession owner
shall be determined by the Director of Harbors and Beaches .
(k) No person shall be permitted to park any house
trailer or similar vehicle in any beach parking lot on
Saturdays, Sundays or holidays except as provided for else-
where in this Code .
(1) Parking of motor vehicles in the parking lot located
on the east side of the pier adjacent to the Fisherman Restaurant
shall be reserved for patrons of said Fisherman Restaurant.
(m) The Director of Harbors and Beaches shall have the
authority to designate reserved parking areas in City-owned
beach parking lots .
(n) No unauthorized vehicle shall park in a reserved
parking area where signs are posted giving notice of such
reserved parking.
7532 . ENFORCEMENT. In addition to City of Huntington
Beach police officers , sworn City personnel designated by the
City to be in charge of any City-owned beach parking lot are
authorized to enforce beach parking regulations .
7533• VIOLATION. PENALTY. Any person violating any
provision of this article, upon a conviction thereof, shall be
guilty of an INFRACTION and punishable by a fine not to exceed
One Hundred Dollars ($100) .
SECTION 3. The provisions of this ordinance insofar as
they are substantially the same as existing provisions of the
Huntington Beach Ordinance Code relating to the same subject
matter shall be construed as restatements and continuations
and not as new enactments .
SECTION 4 . This ordinance shall take effect thirty days
after its adoption. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this ordinance and cause same to be published within fifteen

days after adoption in the Huntington Beach News , a weekly
newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in
Huntington Beach, California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the
5th day of August, 1974 .

19 74 , and was again read to said City Council at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 5th day of August 19_ 71, and
was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of more than a majority of
all the members of said City Council.
