HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #1949 ORDINANCE NO. 1949 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AMENDING THE HUNTINGTON BEACH ORDINANCE CODE BY AMENDING SECTION 1311. 2 PERTAINING TO LAW ENFORCEMENT WITHIN THE CITY The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does ordain as follows : SECTION 1. The Huntington Beach Ordinance Code is hereby amended by amending Section 1311. 2 to read as follows : 1311. 2 . DUTY TO ENFORCE LAWS. It shall be the duty of each and every member of the Police Department to enforce impartially all the laws and statutes of the United States and of the State of California and all of the ordinances of this City, within the limits of this City except State beaches as defined in the State of California Public Resources Code, Section 5001. 5 (d) (4) , unless the State of California Department of Parks and Recreation enters into a contract with this City for the protecting of State beaches within the limits of this City as set forth in the State of California Public Resources Code, Section 5003, and to perform such other and further duties as by statute and ordinance now existing or hereafter enacted, may be imposed upon them in their capacity as peace officers . SECTION 2 . This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its adoption. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and cause same to be published within fifteen days after adoption in the Huntington Beach News , a weekly news- paper of general circulation, printed and published in Huntington Beach, California. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at an adjourned regular meeting thereof held on the 9th day of December, 1974 .
