HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #2083 ORDINANCE NO. 2083 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AMENDING THE HUNTINGTON BEACH ORDINANCE CODE BY AMENDING SECTION 9061 THEREOF TO PROVIDE FOR CHANGE OF ZONING ON REAL PROPERTY BOUNDED BY CLAY AVENUE ON THE NORTH, MANSION AVENUE ON THE SOUTH, MAIN STREET ON THE WEST AND THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC ELECTRIC RAILROAD RIGHT-OF- WAY ON THE EAST (ZONE CASE NO., 76-16) WHEREAS, pursuant to the state Planning and Zoning Law, the Huntington Beach Planning Commission and Huntington Beach City Council have had separate public hearings relative to Zone Change No. 76-16 wherein both bodies have carefully considered all information presented at said hearings, and after due con- sideration of the findings and recommendations of the Planning Commission and all evidence presented to said City Council, the City Council finds that such zone change is proper, NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does ordain as follows : SECTION 1. The following described real property bounded by Clay Avenue on the north, Mansion Avenue on the south, Main Street on the west and the Southern Pacific Electric Railroad right-of-way on the east, is hereby changed from Rl-0, "Low Residential District" combined with oil production, Rl-O-CD, "Low Residential--Civic District" combined with oil production, M2-0, "Industrial District" combined with oil production, and M2-0-CD, "Industrial--Civic District" combined with oil production to R2-0, "Medium Density Residential District" combined with oil production, and R2-0-CD, "Medium Density Residential--Civic District" combined with oil production: Those portions of the south half of the north- 1. JOC:ahb ' � west quarter and of the northeast quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 2, Township 6 South, Range 11 West in the Rancho Las Bolsas , city of Huntington Beach, County of Orange, State of California, as shown on a map recorded in Book 51, page 14 of Miscellaneous Maps in the office of the County Recorder of said county, described as follows : Beginning at the southeasterly corner of a parcel of land described in a deed to the City of Huntington Beach, recorded in Book 277, page 97 of Deeds in the office of the County Recorder of said county, said parcel being located on Main Street; thence northerly along the easterly line of said parcel 70 . 00 feet to the True Point of Beginning; thence continuing northerly and northeasterly along said east. line 1319 feet more or less to south line of Clay Avenue as shown on a map of the Garfield Street Addition to the city of Huntington Beach, recorded in Book 7, page 27 of Miscellaneous Maps in the office of the County Recorder of said county; thence easterly along said south line 995 feet more or less to the east line of the Southern Pacific Trans- portation Company railroad right-of-way as shown on a map of Tract No. 77, recorded in Book 10, page 20 of Miscellaneous Maps in the office of the County Recorder of said county; thence southerly along said east line of the railroad right-of-way 1671 feet more or less to the easterly extension of the north line of Seventeenth Street as shown on a map of Tract No. 12, recorded in Book 9, page 13 of Miscellaneous Maps in the office of the County Recorder of said county; thence westerly along said easterly ex- tension and north line 244 feet more or less to the northerly line of Mansion Avenue as described in a deed to the City of Huntington Beach, recorded in Book 294, page 390 of Deeds in the office of the County Recorder of said county; thence north- westerly 602. 54 feet and westerly 561. 69 feet along said northerly right-of-way to the True Point of Beginning. EXCEPTING THEREFROM those portions of the south half of the northwest quarter and of the northeast quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 2, Township 6 South, Range 11 west in the Rancho Las Bolsas, as shown on a map recorded in Book 51, page 14 of Mis- cellaneous Maps, records of Orange County, California, 2. in the city of Huntington Beach, County of Orange, State of California, more particularly described as follows : Beginning at the centerline intersection of Main Street, 120 feet wide, and Mansion Avenue, 70 feet wide, as shown for that portion of Mansion Avenue easterly of Main Street, in Document No. 27615, recorded September 23, 1916 in Book 294, page 390 of Deeds; thence northerly along the centerline of Main Street north 0019, 4311 'east 545.92 feet; thence north 19015'35" east 184. 00 feet; thence leaving said centerline of Main Street south 89140101" east 560 . 72 feet to the west side of Well Island "U; " thence southerly along Well Island "U" south 0025108" west 100. 17 feet; thence along the south side of said island "U" south 89°34' 52" east 103. 21 feet; thence leaving said island "U" south 0030' 00" west 115 . 44 feet; thence south 0°31 '18" west 329. 51 feet; thence south 18025123" west 232. 50 feet, more or less, to the centerline of Mansion Avenue as described in said deed in Book 294, page 390; thence along said centerline of Mansion Avenue the following two courses : north 48°21' 17" west 55. 00 feet; thence north 89040' 0l"west 608. 49 feet to the point of beginning. SECTION 2. The Planning Director of the City of Huntington Beach is hereby directed to change District Map 2 (Sectional District Map 2-6-11) to incorporate the zone change described in Section 1 hereof, and as said district map shall have been amended, the same shall be in full force and effect and be a part of the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code. A copy of said district map, as amended hereby, is available for inspection in the office of the City Clerk. SECTION 3. Section 9061, District Map 2 thereof, is hereby amended by Zone Case No. 76-16. SECTION 4 . This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its adoption. The City Clerk shall certify to the pas- sage of this ordinance and cause same to be published within fifteen days after adoption in the Huntington Beach News, a 3 . weekly newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in Huntington Beach, California.
