AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
AMENDING THE HUNTINGTON BEACH ORDINANCE CODE
BY AMENDING DISTRICT MAP NO. 2 TO INCLUDE
PRECISE PLAN OF STREET ALIGNMENT NO . 76-8
WHICH WILL PROVIDE FOR THE CUL-DE-SACING OF
SHIPLEY STREET AT 17TH STREET, A TWENTY FOOT
NORTH/SOUTH ALLEY RIGHT-OF-WAY BETWEEN ADAMS
AVENUE AND 17TH STREET, AND A TWENTY-FIVE FOOT
NORTH/SOUTH LOCAL STREET BETWEEN ADAMS AVENUE
AND SHIPLEY STREET
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Planning and Zoning Law, par-
ticularly Government Code Sections 65351 et seq. , the Planning
Commission of the City of Huntington Beach, after notice duly
given, held a public hearing on October 19, 1976 on Precise
Plan of Street Alignment No . 76-8 to provide for the cul-de-
sacing of Shipley Street at 17th Street, a twenty (20) foot
north/south alley right-of-way between Adams Avenue and 17th
Street, and a twenty-five (25) foot north/south local street
between Adams Avenue and Shipley Street; and
On November 1, 1976, after notice duly given, hearing
was held before this Council, and the matter having been
considered, the Council finds that said Precise Plan of Street
Alignment No. 76-8 is reasonably necessary to the orderly
and efficient flow of traffic, for the preservation of the
health and safety of the inhabitants of the city, and for the
orderly development of the community,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach does ordain as follows :
SECTION 1. That the real property hereinafter described
and shown on the map marked Exhibit "A" attached hereto,
incorporated herein and by reference made a part hereof, is
hereby designated and adopted as Precise Plan of Street Align-
ment No. 76-8 of the City of Huntington Beach.

SECTION 2. District Map 2 (Sectional District Map
2-6-11 is hereby amended to include Precise Plan of Street
Alignment No. 76-83 to provide for the cul-de-sating of
Shipley Street at 17th Street, a twenty (20) foot north/south
alley right-of-way between Adams Avenue and 17th Street, and a
twenty-five (25) foot north/south local street between Adams
Avenue and 17th Street .
SECTION 3 . The precise plan, as shown on the map marked
Exhibit "A, "amending Sectional District Map 2-6-11, is herein-
after more particularly described and shall be as follows :
Those portions of Tract No. 51 in the city of
Huntington Beach, county of Orange, state of
California, as per map recorded in Book 9,
page 49 of Miscellaneous Maps in the office
of the county recorder of said county, being
described as follows :
Parcel 1:
Beginning at the most northwesterly corner of
Lot 26, Block 1704 of said Tract No. 51; said
point being the true point of beginning; thence
south 477 . 81 feet along the east line of Douglas
Street, known now as Shipley Street, and the
west line of said Block 1704 to a tangent curve
concave northwesterly having a radius of 70. 00
feet; thence southerly along said curve through
a central angle of 3603210411, an are distance
of 44. 64 feet to a point of reverse tangent
curve concave easterly having a radius of 20. 00
feet; a radial line to said point bears north
53127 ' 56" west ; thence along said curve through
a central angle of 85°13119" an arc distance of
29. 75 feet to a point of cusp with a tangent
line; said tangent line being the northwesterly
prolongation of the southwest line of Lot 2 of
said Block 1704; thence north 48041,15" west
96. 08 feet along said northwesterly prolongation
to a point of cusp of a tangent curve concave
northwesterly having a radius of 20. 00 feet;
said point of cusp being on the southerly line
of Lot 1 of Block 1705 of said tract; thence
northeasterly and northerly along said curve
through a central angle of 131°18145", an arc
distance of 45 . 83 feet to a tangent line; said
tangent line being parallel with and 10. 00 feet
easterly measured at right angles from the east
line of Block 1705 of said tract and 20 . 00 feet

centerline of Shipley Street (formerly Douglas
Street ) of said tract; thence north 160. 30
feet along said tangent line to a point on a
nontangent curve concave southerly, having a
radius of 19. 50 feet; a radial line to said
point bears north 52001, 46" east; thence
northwesterly, westerly and southwesterly
along said curve through a central angle of

tangent line; said tangent line being parallel
with and 10 . 00 feet southeasterly measured at
right angles from the northwesterly line of
Lots 1 and 3 of Block 1705 of said tract; thence
south 41020' 5l" west 134 . 46 feet along said
tangent line to a point on the southwesterly
line of Lot 1 of Block 1705 of said tract;
thence north 48041'15" west 25 . 00 feet along
said southwesterly line and its northwesterly
prolongation to the most southeasterly corner
of Lot 2 of Block 1705 of said tract; thence
north 41120 ' 51" east 134 . 48 feet along the
southeasterly line of Lots 2, 4 and 6 of Block
1705 of said tract to a tangent curve concave
southeasterly, having a radius of 44. 50 feet;
thence northeasterly along said curve through
a central angle of 48°39 ' 09" , an arc distance
of 37. 79 feet to a tangent reverse curve concave
northwesterly having a radius of 19. 50 feet ; a
radial line to said point bears south; thence
northeasterly along said curve through a central
angle of 50017105" , an arc distance of 17. 11 feet
to a nontangent line; a radial line to said point
bears south 50017 ' 05" east; said nontangent line
being parallel with and 10 . 00 feet easterly
measured at right angles from the east line of
Block 1705 of said tract and 20 . 00 feet westerly
measured at right angles from the centerline of
Shipley Street (formerly Douglas Street ) of said
tract; thence north 116 . 09 feet along said non-
tangent line to a tangent curve concave westerly
having a radius of 55 . 00 feet; thence northwesterly
along said curve through a central angle of
38056 ' 33", an are distance of 37. 38 feet to a
tangent line; thence north 38056 ' 33" west 31. 30
feet to a point on the northwesterly line of Lot
10 of Block 1705 of said tract; distant south'
41020151" west 33 .15 feet from the most northerly
corner of said Lot 10 and the most northerly corner
of said Block 1705; thence north 41020 ' 51" past
123 . 97 feet along the northwesterly line of said
Lot 10 and its northeasterly extension to the true
point of beginning.

Beginning at the most northwesterly corner of
Lot 35 of Block 1704 of said tract; said point
being the true point of beginning; thence south
823 . 09 feet along the westerly line of said
Lot 35 and its southerly extension to the south-
west cornea of Lot 3 and the northwest corner
of Lot 1 of Block 1704 of said tract; thence
north 48141' 15" west 36. 63 feet along the
northwesterly extension of the southwesterly
line of said Lot 1 to a point on the south-
westerly line of Lot 2 of said Block 1704;
distant north 48041 , 15" west 16. 66 feet from
the most southerly corner of said Lot 2; thence
north 65°39128" east 8. 24 feet to a point on a
line parallel with and 5 . 00 feet westerly
measured at right angles from the easterly
line of said Lot 2 and its northerly extension;
thence north 762 . 78 feet along said parallel
line; thence north 69119127" west 7. 06 feet
to a point on the northerly line of Lot 26 of
said Block 1704 of said tract; distant south
41120' 51" west 17. 57 feet from the most northerly
corner of said Lot 26; thence north 41120151"
east 40 . 28 feet along the northerly line of said
Lot 26 and its northeasterly extension to the
true point of beginning.
SECTION 4 . This ordinance shall take effect thirty days
after its adoption. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this ordinance and cause same to be published within fifteen
days after adoption in the Huntington Beach News, a weekly news-
paper of general circulation, printed and published in Huntington
Beach, California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 15th
day of November, 1976.
