AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
AMENDING THE HUNTINGTON BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE
BY AMENDING SECTIONS 15 . 24. 090, 15 . 24 .120 AND
15 . 24.130, PERTAINING TO CLEAN UP AND MAINTENANCE
OF OIL WELLS
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does
ordain as follows :
SECTION 1. The Huntington Beach Municipal Code is hereby
amended by amending Sections 15 . 24 . 090, 15 . 24.120 and 15 . 24 .130
to read as follows :
15. 24. 090 Wall and gates--Time of compliance- Nnt
later than April 1, 1977, the operator of the oil operation
site shall construct a minimum six (6) foot high decorative
masonry wall with a gate for access , said wall to be construc-
ted entirely around said oil operation site, except that upon
filing an application to the planning commission for admin-
istrative action, the commission may approve the use of
substitute materials which, for safety reasons , shall be at
least as secure as a chain link fence . The commission may
condition such approval.
15. 24. 120 T,andscaping required. Not later than April
13 1977 . all front setbacks and exterior side yards setbacks
of areas which are created by the placement of a wall required
by Section 15 . 24 . 080 shall be landscaped and permanently main-
tained. All landscaping provided pursuant to this section
shall be approved by the board of zoning adjustments .
15. 24. 130 Automatic sprinklers. Not later than April
1, 1977, all landscaping installed on any oil operation site
shall be maintained by an automatic sprinkler system or other
adequate irrigation system as approved by the board of zoning
adjustments upon application for administrative review.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect thirty days
after its adoption. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this ordinance and cause same to be published within fifteen
days after adoption in the Huntington Beach News , a weekly news-
er 1.
paper of general circulation, printed and published in Huntington
Beach, California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 15th
day of November, 1976 .

all the members of said City Council.
