HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #2187 ORDINANCE NO. 2187 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AMENDING THE HUNTINGTON BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING AND ADDING CERTAIN SECTIONS PER— TAINING TO MASSAGE PARLOR PERMITS The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does ordain as follows : SECTION 1. The Huntington Beach Municipal Code is hereby amended by amending Section 5.24 .120 thereof to read as follows : 5. 24 . 120 Masseur or masseuse permit--Display. Any permit , temporary or otherwise, issued by the chief of police to a masseur or masseuse shall be retained on the person of such masseur or masseuse while actually engaged in such activity and shall be displayed to any peace officer upon demand. SECTION 2. The Huntington Beach Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding thereto Section 5 . 24. 045 to read as follows : 5. 24.045 Permit---Application--Temporary. The police chief shall issue a temporary permit within seven (7) calendar days following receipt of a written application for a masseuse permit, if after an initial investigation it appears to him that the applicant has not been previously convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude. Said temporary permit shall continue until revoked by the chief of police in his discretion when it appears to him that a permit should be denied pursuant to Section 5 . 24. 050 of this code , or until it automatically expires sixty (60) days after issuance, whichever first occurs . SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its adoption. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and cause same to be published within fifteen days after adoption in the Huntington Beach News , a weekly news— paper of general circulation, printed and published in Huntington Beach, California.
