AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
AMENDING THE HUNTINGTON BEACH ORDINANCE CODE
BY AMENDING DISTRICT MAP NO. 23 TO INCLUDE
PRECISE PLAN OF STREET ALIGNMENT NO. . 77-2 TO
PROVIDE FOR NORTHERLY EXTENSION OF SAYBROOK
STREET BETWEEN SANTA BARBARA LANE AND EDIN:GER
AVENUE
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Planning and Zoning Law, partic-
ularly California Government Code Section 65500, the Planning
Commission of the City of Huntington Beach, after notice duly
given, held a public hearing on June 7, 1977 on Precise Plan
of Street Alignment No. 77-2 to provide for the northerly ex-
tension of Saybrook Street between Santa Barbara Lane and
Edinger Avenue; and
On July 5, 1977, after notice duly given, hearing was held
before this Council, and the matter having been considered, the
Council finds that said Precise Plan of Street Alignment No .
77-2 is reasonably necessary to the orderly and efficient flow of
traffic, for the preservation of the health and safety of the
inhabitants of the city, and for the orderly development of the
community,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach does ordain as follows :
SECTION 1. That the real property hereinafter described
and shown on the map marked Exhibit "A" attached hereto, incor-
porated herein and by reference made a part hereof, is hereby
designated and adopted as Precise Plan of Street Alignment No.
77-2 of the City of Huntington Beach.
SECTION 2. District Map 23 (Sectional District Map 20-5-11)`
is hereby amended to include Precise Plan of Street Alignment
No . 77-2, to provide for the northerly extension of Saybrook

Street between Santa Barbara Lane and Edinger Avenue.
SECTION 3. The precise plan, as shown on the map marked
Exhibit "A," amending Sectional District Map 20-5-11, is herein-
after more particularly described and shall be as follows :
That portion of the northwest quarter (NW 1/4)
of Section 20, Township 5 South, Range 11 West
in the Rancho La Bolsa Chica, City of Huntington
Beach, County of Orange, State of California, as
shown on a map recorded in Book 51, page 13 of
Miscellaneous Maps in the Office of the County
Recorder of said County described as follows :
A street 80 .00 feet in width, the centerline of
which is described as follows:
Beginning at the southeast corner of the north
half (N 1/2) of the southeast quarter (SE 1/4)
of the northwest quarter (NW 1/4) of said Section
20; thence north 0040' 57" west 663. 66 feet more
or less along the west line of the east half
(E 1/2) of said northwest quarter (NW 1/4) , to a
point distant south 0040' 57" east 1316 . 34 feet
along the west line of said east half (E 1/2)
from the northeast corner of the west half (W
1/2) of said northwest quarter (NW 1/4) ; thence
continuing along said west line 229 . 17 feet to
a curve concave to the southwest having a radius
of 1500.00 feet; thence northwesterly along said
curve through a central angle of 9022100" an arc
distance of 245 .22 feet to a reverse curve con-
cave to the northeast having a radius of 1500. 00
feet , a radial to said point bears north 79°57' 03"
east; thence continuing along said reverse curve
through a central angle of 902210011 , an arc dis-
tance of 245 . 22 feet, to a line parallel with and
80. 00 feet westerly, measured at right angles from
the west line of said east half (E 1/2) ; thence
continuing north 0040 '57" west 598. 91 feet along
said parallel line to the intersection with the
north line of said Section 20, said intersection
point being the terminus of the described center-
line.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect thirty days
after its adoption. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this ordinance and cause same to be published within fifteen

days after adoption in the Huntington Beach News , a weekly
newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in
Huntington Beach, California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 18th
day of July, 1977.
