HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #2478 ORDINANCE NO. 2478 AN INTERIM URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH EXTENDING THE PROHIBITION AGAINST ISSUANCE OF LICENSES AND PERMITS FOR NEW BUSINESSES PROVIDING ADULT ENTERTAINMENT IN THE CITY WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 2465 , adopted November 3, 1980, the City Council placed a moratorium, for a period of four (4) months , on the acceptance and processing of applications for busi- ness licenses and permits for new businesses providing adult entertainment in order to allow the formulation and considera- tion of appropriate zoning regulations and standards for loca- tion of such businesses ; and The Council finds that additional time is required in order to produce the information required thereunder, NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does ordain as follows : SECTION 1. The moratorium heretofore placed on the accep- tance and processing of applications for business license and permits for new businesses providing adult entertainment is hereby extended for an additional period of eight (8) months. SECTION 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an urgency ordinance for the immediate preservation of the public safety, health and welfare for the purpose of determining ap- propriate zoning regulations and standards for the location of new businesses providing adult entertainment, and shall be in full force and effect upon adoption. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall cause same to be published within fifteen days of its adoption in the Huntington Bea ch ach Independent, a newspaper of general circulation within in the city. /ahb 1. 2/24/81 i PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 2nd day of March, 1981.
