HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #2654 r ORDINANCE NO. . 2654 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AMENDING THE HUNTINGTON BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE BY REPEALING CHAPTER 2. 106, AND ADDING THERETO A NEW CHAPTER 2. 106 ENTITLED, "FOURTH OF JULY EXECUTIVE BOARD" The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does ordain as follow' SECTION 1. Chapter 2. 106 of the Huntington Beach Municipal Code is hereby repealed. SECTION 2. The Huntington. Beach Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding thereto new Chapter 2. 106 entitled, "Fourth of July Executive Board, " to read as follows : 2.106. 010. Established. There is hereby established a Fourth of July executive board which shall oversee, coordinate, raise funds for and conduct the annual Fourth of July parade and cele- bration. 2.106. 020 Composition. The board shall consist of seven members appointed by the city council. Four members shall be appointed for two-year. terms and three members shall be appointed for one-year terms , beginning November 1, 1983. Thereafter the term for all new appointments shall be two years . In the event a member resigns or is unable to complete his or her term of office, an appointment may be made for that portion of such member's unexpired term. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its passage .
