AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
AMENDING THE HUNTINGTON BEACH ORDINANCE CODE BY
ADOPTING PRECISE PLAN OF STREET ALIGNMENT NO. 86-1
ALIGNING WALNUT AVENUE BETWEEN SIXTH STREET AND LAKE
STREET; SIXTH STREET BETWEEN PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY
AND ORANGE AVENUE; SIXTH STREET BETWEEN ORANGE
AVENUE AND LAKE STREET; ORANGE AVENUE BETWEEN SIXTH
STREET AND THIRD STREET; AND LAKE STREET BETWEEN
ATLANTA AVENUE AND PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY
WHEREAS, pursuant to the California Government Code, the
Planning Commission of,-the City of Huntington Beach, after notice
duly given, held a public hearing to consider Precise Plan of
Street Alignment No. 86-1; and
WHEREAS, after notice duly given, hearing was held before
this Council, and the matter having been considered, the Council
finds that Precise Plan of Street Alignment No. 86-1 is reasonably
necessary to the orderly and effigient flow of traffic, for the
preservation of the health and safety of the inhabitants of the
City, and for the orderly development of the community.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission and City Council recognize
the concerns of residents over preservation of significant
historical structures and the impact of traffic and development in
the downtown area.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1 . District Map 12 ( Sectional District Map 11-6-11 ) ,
marked Exhibit A, and District Map 16 (Sectional District Map
14-6-11 ) , marked Exhibit B, attached hereto and incorporated
herein by reference, are hereby amended to include Precise Plan of
Street Alignment No. 86-1 , to effect the precise alignment of:
Precise Plan/Street 1 .
Alignment 86-1
A) Walnut Avenue between Sixth Street and Lake Street;
C ) Sixth Street between Pacific Coast Highway and Orange
Avenue;
D) Sixth Street between Orange Avenue and Lake Street;
E) Orange Avenue between Sixth Street and Third Street; and
F) Lake Street between Atlanta Avenue and Pacific Coast
Highway.
SECTION 2. The real property designated as Precise Plan of
Street Alignment No. 86-1 is more particularly described in
Exhibit C, attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 3. Exhibits D, E and F depict interim street
sections which shall be utilized for the construction of Walnut
Avenue , Orange Avenue and Sixth Street until such time as
li development requires ultimate right-of-way sections.
SECTION 4. Exhibit G depicts a proposed alignment of Walnut
Avenue to be utilized at the intersection of Sixth Street and
Walnut Avenue as long as the existing buildings remain in their
present locations.
SECTION 5. The intersection of Orange Avenue and Sixth
Street shall be designed incorporating appropriate measures to
limit and discourage vehicular travel on Orange Avenue
north-westward from the downtown area into the townlot area .

SECTION 6 . This ordinance shall take effect thirty days
after its adoption.

adjourned
Huntington Beach at a regular/meeting thereof held on the 27th
day of October , 1986 .

LEGAL DESCRIPTIONS
(A) PRECISE ALIGNMENT OF WALNUT AVENUE. SIXTH STREET TO LAKE
STREET.
A strip of land 80. 00 feet in width, the centerline being described
as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of Walnut Avenue, a
60.00 feet wide street, and the centerline of Sixth Street, a 75.00
feet wide street, as shown on the Map of Huntington Beach, recorded
in book 3 page 36 of Miscellaneous Maps in the office of the County
recorder of Orange County, California; thence south 480 40 ' east
1262. 50 feet along the centerline of Walnut Avenue to a point on the
centerline of Second Street, a -60.00 feet wide street as shown on
said map of Huntington Beach; thence continuing south 480 40 ' east
317 . 50 feet along the southeasterly prolongation of the centerline
of Walnut Avenue, to a point on the centerline of Lake Street, a
75.00 feet wide street (formerly First Street ) as shown on said map

(C) PRECISE ALIGNMENT OF SIXTH STREET. PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY TO
ORANGE AVENUE.
A strip of land 80 . 00 feet in width, the centerline being described
as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of Sixth Street, a
75.00 feet wide street, and the northeasterly right-of-way of
Pacific Coast Highway, formerly Ocean Avenue, a 100 . 00 feet wide
highway, as shown on the Map of Huntington Beach recorded in book 3,
page 36 of Miscellaneous Maps in the Office of the County Recorder
of Orange County, California; thence north 410 20 ' east 1245 feet,
more or less , along the centerline of Sixth Street to its
intersection with the northeasterly line of Orange Avenue as shown
on said Map of Huntington Beach, said intersection being the
terminus of the described centerline.
The property line radius for the southerly corner of Sixth Street
and Orange Avenue shall be 90.00 feet . At all other street
intersections the corner property line radii shall be 32. 00 feet.
(D) PRECISE ALIGNMENT OF SIXTH STREET. ORANGE AVENUE TO LAKE
STREET.
A strip of land 77.5 feet in width, 37.5 feet northwesterly and
northerly, measured at right angles, from and 40.00 feet
southeasterly and southerly, measured at right angles , from the
following described line.
Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of Sixth Street, a
75 .00 feet wide street, and the center line of Orange Avenue, a
75.00 feet wide street, as shown on the Map of Huntington Beach,
Main Street Section, recorded in book 3, page 43 of Miscellaneous
Maps, in the Office of the County Recorder of Orange County,
California; thence north 410 20 ' east 195.00 feet along the
centerline of Sixth Street to a tangent curve concave to the south
having a radius of 350.00 feet; thence northeasterly, easterly and
southeasterly along said curve, thru a central angle of 680 06 '
27" an arc distance of 416. 05 feet to a tangent reverse curve
concave to the north, having a radius of 350.00 feet; thence
southeasterly along said curve thru a central angle of 170 30' 38
an arc distance of 106. 97 feet to its intersection with the
centerline of Main Street, a 75.00 feet wide street as shown on said
Map of Huntington Beach , Main Street Section, said intersection
being the terminus of the 77.5 feet wide strip of land and said
point also being the beginning of an 80 . 00 feet strip of land the
centerline being described as follows:
Cor.`_'-n ing along the last mentioned curve easterlly and northeaster-1 °
thru a central angle of 190 46 ' 36" an arc distance of 120.81 feet
to the centerline of Frankfort Avenue, ( Fifth Street ) ; thence north
720 09 ' 13" east 224. 24 feet to the centerline of Lake Street,
formerly Railroad Avenue, as shown on said Map of Huntington Beach,
Main Street Section, said intersection point being the terminus of
the described centerline.
(E) PRECISE ALIGNMENT OF ORANGE AVENUE. SIXTH STREET TO THIRD
STREET.
'A strip of land 80 . 00 feet in width, the centerline being described
as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of Orange Avenue, 'a
75.00 feet wide street, and the northwesterly -right-of-way of Sixth
Street , a 75. 00 feet wide street, as shown on the Map of Huntington
Beach recorded in book 3 page 36 of Miscellaneous Maps and as shown
on the Map of Huntington Beach, Main Street Section, recorded in
book 3, page 43 of Miscellaneous Maps, all in the office of the
County Recorder of Orange County, California; thence south 480 40'
eat 1020 feet, more or less, along the centerline of Orange Avenue
to its intersection with southeasterly right-of-way of Third Street
as shown on said Maps of Huntington Beach, said intersection being
the terminus of the described centerline.
The property line radius for the southerly corner of. Orange Avenue-
and Sixth Street shall be 90.00 feet. At all other street
intersections the corner property line radii shall be 32.00 feet.
(F) PRECISE ALIGNMENT FOR LAKE STREET. PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY TO
ORANGE/ATLANTA CONNECTION.
A strip of land 100. 00 feet in width, the centerline being described
as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of a line that is parallel with and
50.00 feet southeasterly, measured at right angles from the
southeasterly line of Block 101 with the northeasterly line of
Pacific Coast Highway (formerly Ocean Avenue) a 100.00 feet wide
street all as shown on the Map of Huntington Beach, recorded in book
3, page 36 of Miscellaneous Maps in the office of the County
Recorder of Orange County, California; thence north 410 20 ' east
1080 feet along said parallel line and its northeasterly extension
to the terminus of the described center line.
