A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH DECLARING THEIR INTENTION TO
IMPROVE A PORTION OF WALNUT AVENUE OF SAID CITY,
AND PROVIDING THAT THE PROPOSED WORK OR IMPROVE-
MENT SHALL BE DONE UNDFR THE PROVISIONS OF AN ACT
OF THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA PRO-
VIDING FOR WORD UPON THE CONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALKS
AND CURBING WITHIN MUNICIPALITIES, APPROVED MARCH 611909.
The Board pf Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach do
resolve as follows :
Section 1. That the public interest and convenience require,
and that it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of the City
of Huntington Beach to order the following work to be done, to-wit
(a) That a cement sidewalk five feet in width be
constructed along the southwesterly side of Walnut Avenue
from the west line of Third Street to the east line
of Eight Street ( excepting such portions of said Walnut
Avenue between said points along which a cement sidewalk five
feet in width has already been constructed and now is to the '?.,
official line and grade) , in accordance with specifications No.2
as adopted by Ordinance No.29 of the said City of Huntington Beach,
for the construction of cement sidewalks in the said City of Hunt?
ington Beach, on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City,
and which specifications are hereby referred to and made a part
hereof.
Said sidewalk shall be so constructed that the line of the
Inner side of the same be parallel to and one foot from the
property line of the abutting property on said street.
(b) That a cemenet, curb be constructed along the southwesterly

side of Walnut Avenue from the West lihe of Third Street to the
East line of Eight Street ( excepting such portions of said
Walnut Avenue between said points along which a cement curb
has already been constructed and now is to the official line and
grade) , in accordance with specifications No.l as adopted by
Ordinance No.28 of the said City of Huntington Beach for the con-
struction of cement curbs in the City of Huntington Beach, on file
in the office of the City Clerk of said City, to which specifications
reference is hereby made and the s.-.me are made a part hereof.
The said curbs shall be so constructed that the outer edge
of the horizontal surface thereof shall be on a line in said street
10 feet from and parallel to the property line of the abutting
property of said street.
Section 2. That the proceedings for the aforesaid improvement
shall be taken under an act of the legislature of the State of Cali-
forma, entitled "An Act to provide for work upon and the construction
of sidewalks and curbing within municipalities" , approved March 6,1009
• Section 3. The Superintendent of Streets shall post notice
of this work as required by law.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this Resolution, and shall cause the same to be published by two
consecutive insertions in the Huntington Beach News , a newspaper
Printed and published in said City of Huntington Beach, and shall
post the same conspicuously for two days on or near the chamber
door of the Board of Trustees , to-wit, the door of the City Hall
of the City of Huntington Beach, and thereupon and thereafter it
shall tare effect and be in full force .
