HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 128 RESOLUTION No. 108 A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach Declaring their Intention to Improve a portion of OLIVE AVENUE of said City, and providing that the proposed work or improve- ment shall be done under the provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California providing for Work upon the Construction of Sidewalks and Curbing within Municipalities , approved Larch 6, 1909. The Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach do Resolve as follows : S ection 1. That the public interest and convenience require, and that it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach to order the following work to be done,to-wit (a) That a cement sidewalk five feet in width be constructed along the Southwesterly side of Olive Avenue from the Westerly line of First Street to the Easterly line of Tenth Street ( except- ing such portions of said Olive Avenue between said points along which a cement sidewalk five feet in width has already been con- structed and now is to the official line and grade) , in accordance with specifications No.2 as adopted by Ordinance No.29 of the said City of Huntington Beach, for the construction of cement side- walks in the said City of Huntington Beach, on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, and which specifications are hereby referred to and made a part hereof. Said sidewalk shall be so constructed that the line of the inner side of the same be parallel to and one foot from the -pro- perty line , of the abutting property on said stfteet. (b) That a cement curb be constructed along the Southwesterly side of Olive Avenue from the Westerly line of First Street 1. � , to the Easterly line of Tenth Street (excepting such portions of said Olive Avenue between said points along which a. cement curb has already been constructed and now is to the official line and grade , ) in accordance with specifications No-1 as adopted by Ordinance No.28 of the said City of Huntington Beach for the construction of cement curbs in the City of Huntington Beach, on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, to which speci- fications reference is hereby made and the same are made a part hereof. The said curbs shall be so constructed that the outer edge of the horizontal surface thereof shall be on a line in said street 10 feet from and parallel to the property line of the abutting property of said street. Section 2. - That the proceedings for the aforesaid im- orovement shall be taken under an act of the legislature of the State of California entitled " An Act to provide for work upon and the construction of sidewalks and curbing within municipalities" , approved 11arch 6, 1909. Section 3.- The Superintendent of Streets shall post notice of this work as required by law. Section 4.- The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Resolution, and shall cause the same to be published by two consecutive insertions in the Huntington Beach News, a newspaper printed and published in said City of Huntington Beach, and shall post the same conspicuously for two days on or near the chamber door of the Board of Trustees, to-wit, the door of the City Hall of the City of Huntington Beach, and thereupon and thereafter it it shall take effect and be in full force. 2. ,a 1; Passed and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach this 6th day of June, 1910. ___ Ed.
