HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 133 RESOLUTION No. 1 3 •0 3 RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH A"1`ARDING CON- TRACT FOR THE II1PROVEMENT OF A PORTION OF ORANGE AVENUE IN SAID CITY. The Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach do resolve as follows : Section 1. That whereas the Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach, having in open seasion on the 20th day of June , 10,10, at the regular meeting of the said Board, examined and publicly declared all sealed proposals or bids offered for doing the following described work, to-wit: That the entire width of the roadway of Orange Avenue, in s =.,d city, frorA the west line of Railroad. Avenue to the East line of Eleventh Street, including all intersections of streets excepting the intersections of Orange Avenue and Main Street, and ( excepting; such portions of said streets and intersections of streets as are required by law to be kept in order or repair by any person or company having railroad tracks thereon, and also excepting such portions as have already been graded, sanded and oiled to the offi- cial line and accepted) , be graded, sanded and oiled to the official grade in accordance with the plans , profiles and cross-sections for said work on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City, said plans and profiles being numbered No.2, and cross-section No.2, and in further accordance with specifications for grading, sanding and oiling streets in the City of Huntington Beach, on file in the office of City Clerk of said City, said specifications being • Numbered Four as adopted by Ordinance No.35 of said City, and which • said pla_is , profiles and cross-sections and specifications are hereby referred to for a more particular description of said work. Section_2. And whereas , only one bid was filed with the City Clerk for the doing of said work, to-wit: - That of the B. R Davisson Contracting Company, a corporation, and whereas this board finds that the said B.R. Davisson Contract- ing Company is the lowest regular responsible bidder for said work, and that the bid of said Company for the doing of said work is a reasonable bid: Section 3. NOW THEREFORE, Said board of Trustees hereby awards said contract to said lowest regular responsible bidder, to-wit: To the B.R. Davisson Contracting Company, a corporation, at the price named for said work in its proposal on file for said work. Section 4. The City Clerk is hereby directed to post notices of said award oonspicuously ftr five (5) days on or near the council Chamber door of this Board of Trustees , to-wit: on or near the door of the City Hall of the City of Huntington Beach, and he is also directed to publish said notice by one insertion in the Dontington Beach News , a weekly newspaper published and circulated in said City, and therefor and hereby designated for that -purpose . Section 5. The City Clerk shallcertify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter it shall take effect and be in full force.
