RESOLUTION NO. 143.
A RESOLUTI^N OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA,
ORDERING CERTAIN WORK TO BE DONE ON OLIVE
AVENUE IN SAID CITY.
Be it resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of
Huntington Beach, California:
Section 1. That the public interest and convenience re-
quire, and thAt the Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington
Beach hereby orders the following street work to be done, to-wit:
That the entire width of the roadway of Olive Avenue in said
City from the East line of Elevemtn Street to the east line of alley
between First and Second Streets , including all intersections of
streets , (excepting such portions of said streets and intersections
of streets as are required by law to be kept in order or repair by
any person or company having railroad tracks thereon, and also
excepting such portions as have already been graded and sanded and
oiled to the official line and accepted, and excepting the inter-
section of Olice Avenue and Main Street ) , be graded, sanded and
oiled to the official grade in accordance witn the plans, profiles
and cross-sections for said work on file in the office of the City
Engineer of said City, said plans and profiles being numbered No.10
and cross-section No.10 and in further accordance with specifications
for grading, sanding and oiling streets in the said City of Hunting-
ton Beach2 on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City,
said specifications being Number Four as adopted by Ordinance No.35
of said city and which said plans and profiles and cross-sections •
and specifications are hereby referred to for a more particular
description of said wort.

Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish
a notice of s,:.id public work, inviting sealed proposals or bids for
doing said work and referring to the specifications posted or on
file by two (2) insertions in the Huntington Beach News , a weekly
newspaper published and circulated in said City and hereby desig-
nated by the Board of Trustees of the sald City of Huntington Beach
for that purpose. Said notice shall require a certified check
or a bond, either as prescribed by law, and for an amount not less
than ten per cent of the aggregate of the proposal. Said City
Clerk is also directed to pose said notice with specifications
conspicuously for five days on.°or near the council chamber door
of the said Board of Trustees .
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this resolution, and shall cause the same to be published by
two insertions in the Huntington Beach News , a weekly newspaper,
published and circulated in said City of Huntington Beach, hereby
designated for that purpose.
Passed and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of
Huntington Beach, and signed by the President thereof on the 3rd
day of October, 1910.

Beach, California, and ex-officio Clerk of the Board of Trustees
of said City, do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution
was passed and adopted by the said Board of Trustees and signed
by the president of said Board and attested by the City Clerk of
said City at a regular meeting of said Board of Trustees held on
the 3rd day of October, 1910, and that said r6solution was passed
and adopted by the following vote :
AYES: Helme, Seely, Stewart, French, Tanning.
NOES : None.
