HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 148 f • RESOLUTION NO. 148 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, DECLARING THEIR INTENTION TO IMPROVE A PORTION OF ACACIA AVENUE, OF SAID CITY AND PROVIDING THAT THE PROPOSED WORK BE DONE UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF AN ACT OF THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA PROVIDING FOR WORK UPON AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALKS AND CURBING, '"WITHIN MUNICIPALITIES, APPROVED MARCH 6, 1909. The Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach do resolve as follows : Section 1. Thy the public interest and convenience require, and that it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of the C ity of Huntington Beach, to order the following work to �be done , to-wit : That cement curbs be constructed at grade along each and both sides of Acacia Avenue from the West property line of Alabama Avenue to the East property line of Eleventh Street (excepting such portions of said Acacia Avenue between said points along which a cement curb has already been constructed and now is to the official line and grade and also excepting the right of way of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company ) in accordance with Specifications No .l as adopted by Ordinance No. 28 of the City of Huntington Beach, for the construction of cement curbs in the City of Huntington Beach, on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City; and in further accordance with the plans , profiles and cross-sections forsaid work on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City; said plans, profiles and cross-sections being numbered No.13; to which specifications, plans, profiles and cross-sections reference is hereby made for a more particular description of said work. • The said curbs shall be so constructed that the outer edge of the horizontal surface thereof shall be on a line in said street ten (10) feet from and parallel to the property line of the abutt- ing property of said street. Section 2. That the proceedings for the aforesaid improve- ment shall be taken under an act of the legislature of the State of California, entitled "An act to provide for work upon and the construc- tion of Side-walks and curbing within municipalities, " approved, Larch 6, 1909. Section 3. The Superintendent of Streets shall post notice of this work as required by law. Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and shall cause the same to be published by two consecutive insertions in the Huntington Beach News, a weekly newspaper printed, published and circulated in the City of Hunting- ton Beach and shall post the same conspicuously for two days on or near the chamber door of the Board of Trustees , to-wit, the door of the City Hall of the City of Huntingttzn Beach, and thereupon and thereafter it shall take effect and be in force. Passed and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach this 10 day of October, 1910. Ed. Manning. October 10, 1910 RESOLUTION #148 Moved by Seely, seconded by Helve, that Resolution No. 148 entitled "A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach, declaring their intention to improve a portion of Acacia Avenue of said City and providing that the proposed work be done under the pro- visions of an act of the Legislature of the State of California providing for work upon and the construction of sidewalk and curbing within Municipalities, approved March 6, 1909, (which is hereto attached and is hereby made a part of these minutes as if herein fully set forth) be adopted, AYES: Helene, Seely, Manning NOES None ABSENT: Stewart, French •
