HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 149 • RESOLUTION NO. 149 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, DECLARING THEIR INTENTION TO IMPROVE A PORTION OF IAGNOLIA AVENUE, IN SAID CITY, AND PROVIDING THAT THE PROPOSED WORK BE DONE UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF AN ACT OF THE LEGISLATURE. OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA PROVIDING FOR WORK UPON AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALKS AND CURBING,, WITHIN MUNICI- PALITIES, APPROVED MARCH 6, 1909. The Board of Trustees of the C ity of Huntington Beach do resolve as follows : Section 1. That the public interest and concenience require, and that it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach, to order the following work to be done ,to-wit: That the cement curbs be constructed at grade along each and both sides of Magnolia Avenue from the West property line of Ala- bama Avenue to the East property line of Eleventh Street, ( excepting such portions of said Magnolia Avenue between said points along which a cement curb has already been constructed and now is to the official line and grade and also excepting the right of way of the Southern. Pacific Railroad Company) , in accordance with specifications No .l as adopted by Ordinance No.28 of the City of Huntington Beach, on file in the office of the City clerk of said City; and in further accordance with the plans , profiles and cross-sections for said work on file in the office of the City Engineer of said Dity, said plans , profiles and cross-sections being numbered No.14, to which specifications , plans, profiles and cross-sections reference is hereby made for a more particular description of said work. • The said curbs shall be so constructed that the outer edge • of the horizontal surface thereof shall be on a line in said street ten (10) feet from a.nd parallel to the property line of the abutting line of the abutting property of said street. Section 2. That the proceedings for the aforesaid improve- ment shall be taken under an act of the legislature of the State of California entitled "An act to provide for work upon and the con- struction of sidewalks and curbing within municipalities, " Approved D, arch 6, 1909. Section 6. The superintendent of Streets shall post notice of this work as required by law. Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this resolution and shall cause the same to be published by two insertions in the Huntington Beach News a weekly newspaper, printed and published in said City of Huntington Beach, and shall post the same conspicuously for two days on or near the chamber door of the Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach, to-wit, on or near the door of the City Hall of the City of Huntington Beach, and thereupon and thereafter it shall take effect and be ir}Porce . Passed and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach this loth day of October, 1910. Ed.
