HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 162 RESOLUTION NO. 162 RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE' CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE IMPROVEMIENT OF A PORTION OF OLIVE AVENUE IN SAID CITY. The Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach do resolve as follows : Section 1. That whereas the Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach, having in open session on the 24th day of October, 1-f10, at a special meeting of the said Board, examined and publicly declared all sealed proposals or bids offered for doing the following described work, to-wit:- That the entire width of the roadway of Olive Avenue , in said City, from the East line of Eleventh Street .to the East line of alley between First any. Second Streets, including all intersections of streets , ( excepting such portions of said streets and intersec- tions of streets as are required by law to be kept in order or re- pair by any person or company having railroad tracks thereon, and also excepting such portions as have as have already been graded and sanded and oiled t-o the official line and accepted, and except- ing the intersection of Olive Avenue and Main Street) , be graded, san- ded and oiled to the official grade in accordance with the plans, profiles and cross-sections for said work on file in the office of the City Engineer of said city, said plans and profiles being numbered No. 10 and cross-section No. 10, and in further accordance with specifications for grading, sanding and oiling streets in the said • City of Huntington Beach, on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city, said Specifications being Number ,Four as adopted by Ordinance No.35 of said City, and which said plans and profiles and cross-sections and specifications are hereby referred to for a more particular description of said work. Section 2. And whereas , only one bid was filed with the City Clerk for the doing of said work, to-wit:- That the B.R. Davisson Contracting Company, a corporation, at ninety-three cents (5= .93) per lineal foot of street, and where- as this Board finds that the said B. R . Davisson Contracting Company is the lowest regular responsible bidder for said work, and that the bid of said Company for the doing of said wort is a reasonable bid. Section 3. NOW THEREFORE, said Board of Trustees hereby awards said contract to said lowest regular, responsible bidder, to-wit: To the B. R. Davisson Contracting Company, a corporation, at the price named for said work in its proposal on file for said work. Section 4. The City Clerk is hereby directed to post notices of said award conspicuously for five (5) days on or near the Council Chamber foor of this Board of Trustees, to-wit: on or near the door of the City Hall of the said City of Hunt- ington Beach, and he is also directed to publish the said notice by one insertion in the Huntington Beach News, a weekly newspaper published and circulated in said City of Huntington Beach, and therefor and hereby designated for that purpose . Section 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter it shall take effect and be in full force. Passed and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach and signed by the President thereof this 2.4th day of October,1910. 2. • Ed.
