A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE BOARD
OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH,
DECLARING THEIR INTENTION TO IMPROVE A PORTION
OF NINTH STREET OF THE SAID CITY, AND PROVIDING
THAT THE PROPOSED WORK OR IMPROVEMENT BE DONE
UNDER AN ACT OF THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE
OF CALIFORNIA PROVIDING FOR WORK UPON AND THE
CONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALKS AND CURBING WITHIN
MUNICIPALITIES, APPROVED MARCH, 6, 1909.

That the Board of Trustees of the City of Hunt-
ington Beach do resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the public interest and con-
venience require and that it is the intention of the Board
of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach to order the
following work to be done, to-wit:
(a) That cement curbs be constructed at grade
along each and both sides of Ninth Street in said City from
the North line of Ocean Avenue to the South line of Palm
Avenue, (excepting such portions of said Ninth Street between
said points, along which a cement curb has already been con-
structed and now is to the official line and grade), in ac-
cordance with Specifications No. 1 as adopted by Ordinance
No. 28 of said City of Huntington Beach for the construction
of cement curbs in the City of Huntington Beach, on file in
the office of the City Clerk of said City, and in further

accordance with the plans , profiles and cross-sections for
said work on file in the office of the City Engineer of said
City; said plans, profiles and cross-sections being numbered
No. 24; to which specifications, plans, profiles and cross-
sections reference is hereby made for a more particular
description of said work.
The said curbs shall be so constructed that the
outer edge of the horizontal surface thereof shall be on a
line in said street 12 1/2 feet from and parallel to the
property line of the abutting property of said street.
(b) That a cement sidewalk, five feet in width
be constructed along each and both sides of !:ninth Street in
said City from the North line of Ocean Avenue to the South
line of Palm Avenue ( excepting such portions of said Ninth
Street between said points, along which a. cement sidewalk
five feet in width ha,s already been constructed and now is to
the official line and grade) in accordance with Specifications
No. 2 as adopted by Ordinance No. 29 of the said City of
Huntington Beach, for the construction of cement sidewalks in
the City of Huntington Beach, on file in the office of the
City Clerk of said City; and in further accordance with the
plans, profiles and cross-sections for said work on file in
the office of the City Engineer of said City, said plans,
profiles and cross-sections being numbered No. 24; to which
specifications, plans profiles and cross-sections reference
is hereby made for a more, particular description of said work.
Said sidewalk shall be so constructed that the line

of the inner side of the same shall be parallel to and one
foot from the property line of the abutting property of said
street.
Section 2. That the proceedings for the aforesaid
improvements shall be taken under the provisions of an act
of the Legislature of the State of California entitled, "An
Act to provide for work upon and the construction of sidewalks
and curbing within Municipalities, " approved March 6, 1909.
Section 3. The Superintendent of Streets shall
post notice of this work as required by law.
Section 4. T'_r1e City Clerk shall certify to the
passage of this Resolution and shall cause the same to be
published by two (2) consecutive insertions in the Huntington
Beach News, a weekly newspaper published and circulated In
said City of Huntington Beach, and shall post the same con-
spicuously on or near the corncil chamber door of the said
Board of Trustees, and the same shall remain so posted for
two (2) days, and thereupon and thereafter it shall take
effect and be in force.
Passed and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the
City of Huntington Beach this 20th day of February, 1911 .
