RESOLUTION NO 192
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, DECLARING THEIR
INTENTION TO IMPROVE A PORTION OF EIGHTH STREET
IN SAID CITY, AND PROVIDING THAT THE PROPOSED
WORK BE DONE UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF AN ACT OF
THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA,
PROVIDING FOR WORK UPON AND THE CONSTRUCTION
OF SIDEWALKS AND CURBING WITHIN MUNICIPALITIES,
APPROVED MARCH 61 1909.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach
do resolved as follows:
Section 1. That the public interest and convenience
require and that it is the intention of the Board of Trustees
of the City of Huntington Beach to order the following work
to be done, to-wit:
(a) That cement curb be constructed at grade along
each and both sides of said Eighth Street in said City from
the north line of Ocean Avenue to the South line of Palm
Avenue (excepting such portions of said Eighth between said
points, along which a cement curb has already been constructed
and now is to the official line and grade ) in accordance with
Specifications No. 1 as adopted by Ordinance No. 28 of said
City of Huntington Beach, on file in the office of the City
Clerk of said City, and in further accordance with the plans,
profiles and cross-sections for said work on file in the
office of the City Engineer of said City, said plans, pro-
files and cross-sections being numbered No. 25; to which
specifications, plans, profiles and cross-sections reference
is hereby made for a more particular description of said
work.

The said curbs shall be so constructed that the outer
edge of the horizontal surface thereof shall be on a line in
said street 122 feet from and parallel to the property line
of the abutting property of said street.
(b) That a cement sidewalk, five feet in width be
constructed along each and both sides of Eighth Street in said
City from the North line of Ocean Avenue to the South line
of Palm Avenue (excepting such portions of said Eighth Street
between said points, along which a cement sidewalk, five feet
in width has already been constructed and now is to the official
line and grade) in accordance with Specification No. 2 as
adopted by Ordinance No. 29 of said City of Huntington Beach
for the construction of cement sidewalks in the said City
of Huntington Beach, on file in the office of the City Clerk
of said City; and in further accordance with the plans, pro-
files and cross-sections for said work on file in the office
of the City Engineer of said City, said plans, profiles and
cross-sections being numbered No. 25 to which specifications,
plans, profiles and cross-sections reference is hereby made
for a more particular description of said work.
Said sidewalk shall be so constructed that the line
of the inner side of the same shall be one foot from and
parallel to the property line of the abutting property of said
street .
Section 2. That the proceedings for the aforesaid
improvements shall be taken under the provisions of an act
of the Legislature of the State of California, entitled
"An Act to provide for work upon and the construction of
sidewalks and curbing within Municipalities," approved
March 6, 1909 .

Section 3. The superintendent of Streets shall post

notice of this work as required by law.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this resolution and shall cause the same to be published
by two (2) consecutive insertions in the Huntington Beach
News, a weekly newspaper published and circulated in said City
of Huntington Beach, and shall post the same conspicuously for
two (2) days on or near the council chamber door of said Board
of Trustees, to-wit: on or near the door of the City Hall of
the City of Huntington Beach and thereupon and thereafter it
shall take effect and be in force.
Passed and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City
of Huntington Beach this 20 day of February, 1911.

foregoing Resolution was passed and adapted by the Board
of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach at its regular
meeting held on the 20 day of February, 1911, and that the
same was passed and adopted by the following vote:
