RESOLUTION OF INTENTION •
NO. 242 -
A ]RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH DECLARING THEIR IN-
TENTION TO II-JTPROVE A PORTION OF DELA17ARE AVENUE
AND OTHER STREETS AND AVENUES IN SAID CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH %iENTIONED IN SAID RESOLtTTION,
AND PROVIDING THAT THE PROPOSED WORK BE DOvE UNDER
THE"I12ROVEIIENT ACT OF 1911. "

The Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach do
hereby resolve as follows :
Section 1. That the public interest and convenience of
the people of the City of Huntington Beach require , and that
it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of said City to
order the following work to be done and improvement to be made
in said city, to- wit:
(a) That Seventeenth Street from the North city boundary
( the center of Clay Street) to Delaware Avenue; and Delaware
Avenue from Seventeenth Street to Frankfort Street; and Frank-
fort Street from Delaware Avenue to Alabama Avenue; and Alabama
Avenue from Frankfort Street to Acacia Avenue; and Acacia Avenue
from Alabama Avenue to the right of way of the southern Pacific
Railway Company, be paved, guttered, crowned, graded, capped,
and oiled to the official grade thereof, in accordance with
Specifications No.8 as provided in Ordinance No. 125 of said
city, and in accordance with Plans Nos .100 and 101.
(b) That atlanta Street from the Right of Way of the
Los Angeles Inter-Urban Railway Company to the Right of Way of

the Southern Pacific Railway Company, be paved, improved
and constructed to the official grade thereof, in accordance
with Specifications No. 6 as provided in Ordinance No-111 of
said City and in accordance with plans No, 100 and 101.
All of which said Specifications and plans are on file in the
office of the City Engineer of ss.id City of Huntington Beach, and
are hereby referred to for further and more particular description
of said work and improvements.
Section 2. That said Board of Trustees do hereby determine
and declare that said proposed work and improvement is of more
than local or ordinary public benefit wnd will affect and benefit
the lands and districts hereinafter described and which said
district is hereby declared to be the district affected and
benefited by said work and improvement and that therefore the
entire cost and expenses of said work and improvement shall be
abd are hereby made chargeable against and shall be' assessable
upon said lands and district, which district is within the City
of Huntington Beach, County of Orange , State of California, and
the exterior boundaries of the lands affected and benefited by
said work, exclusive of said strip of land sought to be improved,
and exclusive of any land within said boundaries which is now
Dart of the public streets, is particularly described as follows ,
to-wit:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the forth City
boundary line with the quarter sectirn line running North and
South through Sections Two (2) and Eleven (11) , Township 6
South, .Range 11 West, S. B.B. & M. and running thence Easterly
along the North city boundary line to a point on the Easterly

line of Section Two (2) , Township 6 South, Range 11 West,
S. B. &M. ; running thence Southerly along the East city
boundary line 1320 feet to a point; thence Easterly along the
city boundary line 1188 feet more or less to a point; thence
in a general Southerly direction, following all the different
courses of the Easterly city Boundary line to the intersection
of the Easterly city boundary line with the average high tide
line of the Pacific Ocean; thence Northwesterly along the
average high tide line of the Pacific Ocean to its inter-
section with the quarter section line running Borth and South
through Sections Two ( 2) and Eleven (11) , Township 6 South,
Range 11 West, S.B.B & M. ; thence Northerly along the last des-
cribed line to the point of beginning.
Section 3. The Board of Trustees of said City of Huntington
Beach hereby further resolve and determine that serial bonds
shall be issued to represent assessments of Twenty-five Dollars
( 25.00) or over for the cost and expense of said work and im-
provement;_ sa.id serial bonds shall extend over a period of nine
(9) years from the second of January next succeeding their
date , and an even annual proportion of the principal sum there-
of shall be payable by coupons on the second day of January every
year after their date until the whole is paid, and the interest
shall be payable semi-annually by coupon on the second days of
January and July, respectively, of each year, at the rate of.
seven (?%) per cent, per annum, on all sums unpaid until the
whole of said : rincipal and interest are paid.
Section 4. All work shallbe done in accordance with the .
plans and specifications heretofore adopted for doing said work
now on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City.

Sectiom 5. The City Clerk shall cause this Resolution of
Intention to be published twice in the Huntington Beach News,
a weekly newspaper published and circulated in said City and
hereby designated for that purpose by the Board of Trustees .
Section 6. The Street Superintendent shall immediately
cause to be conspicuously posted along the line of said contem-
plated work and improvement and in front of all the property
liable to be assessed notices of the passage of this Resolution
of Intention in the manner and form required by law.
Section 7. All of the herein proposed work shall be
done in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of
California designated as the "Improvement Act of 191111 approved
April 7 , 1911.
