RESOLVED, that whereas the Board of Trustees of the
City of Huntington Beach did on the 14th day of May, 1914,
pass its Resolution of Intention No. 245 to order the hereinaf-
ter described work to be done and improvement to be made in said
City of Huntington Beach, which Resolution of Intention was
duly and legally published as required by law, as appears by
the affidavit of Jas. J. Conrad, now on file in the office
of the City Clerk of said City of Huntington Beach; and
whereas, notices of the passage of said Resolution of Inten-
tion No. 245 headed "Notice of Improvement" were duly and
legally posted along the line of said contemplated work and
improvement and in front of all the property liable to be
assessed therefor, in form and manner as required by law
immediately after the publication of said Resolution of In-
tention, as appears by the affidavit of J. Tinsley, Street
Superintendent, of the said city of Huntington Beach, who,
upon completion of the posting of said notices forthwith
filed said affidavit in the office of the City Clerk, making
oath that he completed the posting of said notices on the
23rd day of May, 1914; and whereas , more than fifteen days
have expired since the day of the second publication of
said Resolution of Intention No.245, and the completion of
the posting of said "Notice of Improvement" therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the public interest and convenience rey
quire the work herein described, and the Board of Trustees
of said City of Huntington Beach hereby orders the following
work to be done in said City, to-wit :

(a) That Ninth Street from a line twenty-eight

(28) feet northeasterly from and parallel - to the center
line of Ocean .Avenue to a line eighteen (18) feet southwesterly
from and parallel to the center line of Palm Avenue, be paved,
guttered, crowned, graded, capped, and oiled to the official
grade thereof, in accordance with Specifications No-8 as
provided in Ordinance No. 125 of said City, and in accordance
with plans No. 103 and No. 104, all of which said specifications
and plans are now on file in the office of the City Engineer
of said City of Huntington Beach.
(b) That cement curbs be constructed at grade along
both sides cf Ninth Street in said city from the northeasterly
line of Ocean Avenue to the southwesterly line of Palm Avenue
( excepting such portions cf said Ninth Street between said
points along which a cement curb has already been constructed
and now is to the official line and grade) in accordance with
Specifications No-1 as adopted by order No.28 of said City
of Huntington Beach on file in the office of the City Clerk
of said city and in further accordance with plans, profiles
and cross-sections for said work on file in the office of the
City Engineer of said City, said plans, profiles and cross-
sections being numbered 103 and 104; to ithich specifications ,
plans, profiles and cross-sections reference is hereby made
for a more particular description of said wore..
(c) That a. cement side-walk, five feet in width be
constructed along both sides of Ninth Street in said City
from the northeasterly line of Ocean Avenue to the southwesterly
line of Palm Avenue (excepting such portions of said Street

ibetween said points along which a cement side-walk, five feet
in width has already been constructed and now is to the official
line and Crade) in accordance with Specifications No.2, as
adopted by Ordinance No.29 of said Uity of Huntington Beach, for
the construction of cement side-walks in said city of Huntington
Beach, on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city; and
in further accordance with the plans , profiles and cross-sections
for said work on file in the office of the City Engineer of
said city, said plans , profiles and cross-sections being numbered
103 and 104 to which specifications , plans , profiles and cross-
sections , reference is hereby made for a more particular descrip-
tion of s:1_id work. Said side-walk shall be so constructed that
the line of the inner side of the same shall be one foot from and
parallel to the property line of the abutting property of said
street.
All of the work shall be done in accordance with the said
plans and specifications adopted for doing said work and now
on file in the office of the City Clerk and the City Engineer
of said City.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to post a notice of
said work, together with the plans and specifications therefor,
conspicuously for five (5) days on or near the council chamber
door, to-wit: the front door of the City Hall in the City of
Huntington, Beach, California, inviting sealed proposals or
bids for doing the world ordered. He is ,also, directed to
publish a notice inviting such proposals and referring to the
specifications posted or on file , twice in the Huntington Beach
News,a�veekly newspaper paublished and circulated in said

City of Huntington Beach, and hereby designated for that

purpose.
