1 R-ESOLVED2 that whereas the Board of Trustees of the
2 City of Huntington Beach did on the 14th day of May, 1914, pass its
• 3 Resolution of Intention No. 245 to order the hereinafter described
4 work to be done and improvement to be made in said City of Hunting-
5 ton Beach, ribich Resolution of Intentioh was duly an(I legally
6 published as reqnred by law, as appears by the affidavit of J".J.
7 Conrad,now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City
s of Huntington Beach; and zrhereas, notices of the passage of said
9 Resolution of Intention No. 230 headed "Notice of Improvement"
10 were duly* and legally posted along the line of said contemplated
11 work and improvement and. in front of all the property liable to
12 be assessed therefor. in form and manner as required by law,,immed-
13 iately after the publication of said Resolution of Intention, as
14 appears by the affidavit of J. Tinsley, StO44tSuperintendent, of
15 the said city of Huntington Beach,- who, upon the completion of the
16 posting of said notices forthwith filed said affidavit in the office
17 of the City Clerk, making oath that he completed the posting of
18 said notices on the 23rd day of May, 1914; and whereas, more than
19 fifteen days have expired since the day of the second publication
20 of said Resolution of Intention No. 245, and the completioL of the
21 posting of said "Notices of Improvement" therefore be it
22 PESO=M, that the public interest and convenience re-
23 quire the work herein described, and the Board of Trustees of said
24 City of Huntington Beach hereby orders the following work to be
25 done in said City, to-wit:
26 (a) That Ninth Street from a line twenty-eight(28)
27 feet north-easterly from and parallel to the center line of Ocean
281 Z�,venue to a line eighteen (18) feet southwesterly from and parallel
29 to she center line of Palm Avenue, be paved, guttered, crowned,
30 graded, capped, and oiled to the official grade thereof, in
31 accordance with Specifications No. 8 as provided in Ordinance No.
32 125 of said City, and in accordance 1.,iith plans No. 103 and No. 104,

1 all of which said specifications and plans are now on file in the
2 office of the City Z4gineer of said city of Huntington Beach, •
3 (b) That cement curbs be constructed at grade along
4 both sides of Ninth "Street in said city from the northeasterly
5 line of Ocean Avenue to the southwesterly line of Palm Avenue
6 (excepting such portions of said Ninth Street between said points
7 along which a cement curb has already been constructed and now is t(
8 the official 'Line and grade ) in accordance with specifications
9 No. 1 as adopted by order No. 28 of said City of Hu-ntington Beach
10 on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city and in
it further accordance with plans, profiles and crose-sections for
12 said work on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City
13 said plans, profiles and cross- sections being num1l-ered 103 and
14 104; to which specifications, plans, profiles and cross-sections
15 reference is hereby made for a more particular description of
16 said work.
17 W That a cement side-walk, five feet in width be
18 constructed along botili sides of Ninth Street in said City from
19 the northeasterly line of Ocean Avenue to the southtesterly line
20 of Palm Avenue ( excepting such portions of said 01treet between
21 said points along which a cement ,side-walk, five feet in width
22 has already been constructed and now is to the official line MI CI
23 grade) in accordance with Specifications No. 2 , as adopted by
24 Ordinance Uo. 29 of said City of Huntington Beach, for the con-
25 struction of cement si&e-walks in said city of Huntington Beach,
26 on file in -'U-he office of the City Clerk of said city; and in
27 further accordance with the plans, profiles and cross-sections
28 for said work on file in the office of the City ',Tjngineer of said
29 City, said, plans, profiles and cross-sections being numbered 103
30 and 3.04 to which specifications, plans, profiles and cross-sections,
31 reference is, hereby made for a more particular description of said

work. Said side-walk shall be so constructed that the line of the
1 of the inner side of the same shall be one foot from and parallel
• 2 to the property line of the abutting property of said street.
3 All of the .-,,ork shall be done in accordance with the
4 said plans and specifications adopted for doing said work and now
5 on file in the office of the City Clerk and the City Engineer of
6 said city.
7 The City Clerk is hereby directed to post a notice of
8 said work, together with the plans and specifications therefor,
13 conspicuously for five (5 ) days on or near the council chamber
10 door, to-wit: the front door of the City Hall in the City of

Huntington Beach, California, inviting sealed proposals or bids
12 for doing the work ordered. He is, also, directed to publish a
13 notice inviting such proposals and referring to the specifications
14 posted or on file, , twice in the Huntington Beach News, a weekly
15 newspaper published and circulated in said City of Huntington
16 Beach, and hereby designated for that purpose.
