HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 247A RESOLUTION ORDERING WORK, NO. 247 - t RESOLVED, that whereas the Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach did on the llth day of May, 1914, pass its Resolution of Intention, No.242, to order the hereinafter described work to be done and improvement to be made in said city of Huntington Beach, which Resolution of Intention was duly and legally published, as required by law, as appears by the affidavit of J. J. Conrad, now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City of Huntington Beach; and whereas , notices of the passing of said Resolution of Intention, No .242, headed "Notice of Improvement" were duly and legally posted along the line of said contemplated work and improvement and in front of all the property liable to be assessed therefor, in form and manner as required by law ir-mediately after the publication of said Resolution of Intention, as appears by theeffidavit of J. Tinsley, Street Superintendent of said city of Huntington Beach, who, upon the completion of the posting of said notices forthwith filed said affidavit in the office of the City Clerk, making oath that he completed the posting of said notices of improvement on the 22nd day of May, 1914; and whereas , more than fifteen days have expired since the day of the second publi- cation of said Resolution of Intention, No.242, and the comple- tion of the posting of said n:-tices of improvement, therefore be it RESOLVED, that the pub lie interest and convenience re- quire the work herein described, and the Board of Trustees of said City of Huntington Beach hereby orders the following des- cribed work to be done in said city to-wit: 1 . { (a) That Seventeenth Street from the NorthCity boundary ( the Center of Clay Street) to Delaware Avenue; and Delaware Avenue from Seventeenth to Frankfort Street; and Frankfort Street from Delaware Avenue to Alabama Avenue; and Alabama Avenue from Frankfort Street to Acacia Avenue; and Acacia Ave- nue from Alabama Avenue to the right of way of the Southern Pacific Railway Company, be paved, guttered, crowned, graded, capped, and oiled to the official grade thereof, in accordance with Specifications No.8 as -orovided in Ordinance ���io.125 of said City, and in accordance with Plans Nos . 100 and 101. (b) That Atlanta Street from the right-of-way of the .Los Angeles Inter Urban Railway Comoany to the ri`;ht l)f way of the Southern Pacific Railway Company be paved, improved and con- structed to the official grade thereof, in accordance with Spedi- fications No.6 as provided in Ordinance No. 111 of said City, and in accordance with Plans Nos. 100 and 101. All of which ,-raid specifications and plans are on file in the office of the city Engineer of said City of Huntington Beach. All of said plans and specifications are hereby referred to for a more particular description of said work, and all of the work shall be done in accordance with said plans and speci- fications adopted for doing said work and now on file in the office of the City C lerk and the City Engineer of said City. The City Clerk is here by directed to post a notice of said work, together witn the plans and specifications therefor, conspicuously for five days on or near the Council Chamber door, to- sit: the frontdoor of the City Hall In the city of Huntingt)on Beach, California,, inviting sealed proposals or bids 2. l for doing the work ordered. He is , also, directed to publish a • notice inviting such proposals and referring to the plans and specifications posted or on file , in the Huntington Beach News , a. weekly newspaper, published and circulated in said City of Hun- tington Beach, and hereby designated for that purpose. 111.
